Maybe try some jiffy pellets or something? Those retain moisture well and are great for starting seedlings..
yes...they prolly dried but i still dont understand why, they germed really goood. seems noone understand this problem exactly...

These jiffy pellets looks cool but we aint got them in our country, but the soil is very moist and was weet, we give'd them water every 2days...
