Here's my story. I am currently taking Niacin to pass a drug test for Comcast cable. I have an interview next week and I have quit smoking since June 9th which would make today day 6 of smoke free. I got the 100mg regular Niacin (nicotinic acid) type. I weigh 165lbs and am 6'5". I am very slim and if I had to guess my body fat is <5%. Based on what I have read here I have been going to the gym daily, hitting the stationary bicycle for 1/2 hour with no fans on me in order to induce maximum perspiration, followed immediately with 20 minutes in the sauna. I have also been drinking approximately 4x the recommended amount of water daily if not more. (in other words approx 75 fluid ounces of water based on my weight).

I have been taking the niacin tablets since yesterday and started with 900mg over the course of the day. Each time I took a dose it was in increments of 300mg. and right after a meal. The recommended dosage is 100mg per day. On the second day (today) I have taken 400mg total in increments of 200mg. I get hot flashes primarily in my arms and back of my neck and also intense burning in my face no mater what the dosage. The good news is it only lasts approximately 10-15 minutes and takes about a full hour to kick in. My interview (and possible drug test) is next Wednesday (June 20th) and I plan to reduce dosages each day until I get to 100mg per day and I will quit a few days before the interview. My only reason for cutting back so much is because my body fat index is really low and it is not worth sacrificing my health and well being for a job, no matter what job it is. Keep this in mind people don't fuck yourself up over some job - if you're that concerned just quit for an entire month to be safe. I will keep you updated as to what happens but I feel I should have no problem passing.
