Lowryder is a separate strain, called ruderalis (sp?).

As far as being medical, I don't believe any specific strain is "medical"......Certain varieties have been breed for the qualities desired depending on the targeted ailments.

Lowryder I believe was developed more for stealth than quality thus making it a poor choice for most medical ailments.
