Those little springy florists' shears crispi showed are EXCELLENT.

Personally, I use a pair of long, very sharp, fine-bladed sewing scissors. They are similar to hairdressers' shears but lighter.

Demeter taught me a trick to keeping your scissors nice and free-moving:

Get 2 pairs of the scissors you like the best.
Take a mug and fill it with 90% rubbing alcohol, or the regular 70% if you can find it.
When not in use, keep your trimming scissors in there.
You can only use one pair at a time (I assume lol) so the other will be soaking itself clean in the alcohol. Just remove and wipe off with a rough rag before use.
Voila, no more sticking!

I can't bear the thought of trimming my lovely buds with electric trimmers
