I tend to agree.

Even were this technique to work, there are MUCH better ways to improve plant health, and by extension, yield, that do not involve stressing the plant to the point of hermaphrotidism or injury which can allow disease to take hold.

Just concentrate on plant health. You will grow more than enough for yourself and your close friends if you just follow normal grow procedures.
