It's very cool! Wait until you pull a piece off a live plant, and you get to see those stalks when they're freshly formed and haven't degraded any. I always feel like a mad scientist when I do this, then a stoned scientist afterwards...

I've got a 50-100x, and I think you've got the right idea sticking with the 30x. Mine is a little too powerful for my needs, but it works for the time being.
