def go for it.
I have the volcano classic with the classic valve.
I don't smoke anywhere NEAR as much as I used to, and I use the volcano like 90% of the time. (the other 10% accounts for being away from home or using the bong while im waiting for the volcano to warm up. =) )
I have owned and tried several other vaporizers, the first one i ever used was a heat gun/bong. Didn't know what i was doing, burnt the shit out of it, tasted like burnt popcorn.
Im sure they work well though, i don't know, its been a about 8 years since i tried it.
The first one i actually purchased was a portable small one, about the size of a smallish joint, all glass, cost about 15 bucks, called the Ubie. It broke quickly, it was made of thin glass, got vaped bud in your mouth all the time, etc. but it was ok for 15 bones. still smoked all the time though.
The next one I bought was a wooden box style vape with the rubber tube, the glass mouthpiece, and the glass bowl on the other end. Mine broke the same day. (the part that the glass bowl fits over, also being glass, broke off.) It was angled oddly, hard to get heating of the herb.
Then i moved to Canada, near Toronto, and found the Vapour Lounge. They have good selection of vapes that you can sit down and TRY for 5 bucks a day. You bring your own bud. This is where i first tried the volcano digital and the easy valve.
I think i vaped for an hour steady with my gf, I was so incredibly fucked, that I couldn't drive(never EVER happens to me when i smoke).
I ended up purchasing the Classic Volcano with the classic valve.
The only diferences between the classic and the digital are the obvious classic vs. digit,
the digital has an auto-shutoff after 30 minutes of not being used.
Seriously, that is all the difference. plus the money of course.
The valve system makes more of a difference. If you want to save money (and the earth) by not throwing away the plastic mouthpieces, get the classic. you can completely disassemble everything to clean it in iso.
Or if you don't want to clean things, get the easy valve, but you will throw away the used bags and pay more money for the bags with the mouthpieces attached.
You can save the vaped bud for making cannabutter later. No matter what everybody says, you can still extract a little bit of thc and other canabanoids from the vaped bud. You obviously need to use a little more, but it still works.
And for the sake of you and your cannabutter, use a double boiler so you don't waste/burn off the butter!!!!(put one smaller pot inside a slightly larger pot, the larger pot fill with a couple inches of water, then add the vaped herb and butter/oil to the smaller pot on top, boil the water on the bottom, just enough to heat the butter evenly, cook for 30 minutes, stir every five or so, strain through a coffee filter/cheesecloth, and you are good to go.) You don't need to let it sit overnight and harden this way, and you can use it immediately, AND you don't burn/waste any butter!!!
