Just like with anything else, it's all how you look at it. Kinda like asking which is better...hydro or soil. Cured or un-cured, bending or topping...
It all depends what you are looking for in your smoke. I much prefer smoking cannabis grown in soil. Tastes better, smells better. (never grown hydro so not sure about yields, but have smoked both) But this is my own opinion, and likely the hydro guys-n-gals would have a different opinion.

Frankly, I don't really give much of a shit what I use for ferts, chemical or organic, as long as they work and I can't taste 'em when smoking it. A good pre-harvest flush and curing usually works fine.

Having said all that, I have no plans of changing my Fox Farms nutes, or my Dr. Q's Filthy Rich potting soil any time soon, but I do use Miracle Grow All Purpose on 'em in emergencies. Can tell no significant difference. (once you get the hang of using it)
