And to answer the question of the original poster. Try and keep the weed in a mason or other type jar. Keeping it in the baggie you get it in usually causes trichomes etc to stick to the side of bags because they are statically charged. There are also Anti-Static bags you can buy and weed dosent seem to stick to it as much. Check for mold as stated above but you should have no problem smoking the stuff after 2 months or even a year if stored properly. Have fun and welcome ! Glad you have found a benefit for smoking.
