I've been laid out with the flu for a week. But I'm BACK, BABY! Complete with fancy green boogers and a gross wet cough! Yay!
LocNar, even though I really prefer E&F SOG for ease of production these days, I still prefer to keep my moms in a good soil/compost type medium for ease of maintenance and also just in case anything happens, they are quite portable in their pots! My good buddy Chron ran an inventory for me this weekend and yelled at me about my plant count, so that's gonna come in kinda handy in the next few days, lol... I wish I could just have a yard sale of extra plants, lol... I'm up to 38 unique mothers, 5 unique fathers, and duplicates of many of these for backup... running them all in hydro would literally be a full time job, as they all require slightly different conditions/nute mixes, so I do it in soil using a base fert and some small squeese bottles with diluted supplements that only plants that want that supplement get squirted onto the soil right before watering with the base fert. For example, the commercial strains like MSS and NL and Papaya want a lot of Nitrogen, so a squirt from a ketchup bottle of partially-diluted fish emulsion does them up nice, where the same amount of N given to NCDG or SourBubble would practically kill them!
They also get weekly Si + SMC + Spray n Grow foliar treatments to load up the new growth with silicates and supplement the waxy cuticle with some oil so that they clone easier when the time comes.
