IMO anyone who wants Leds to be "as good as" HPS, lacks ambition.
Watt for Watt they surpass HPS even for blooming.
I'm not talking about "china panels" or 10mm. arrays.
Serious growing requires serious light.
5 Watt emitters at minimum.
I'm using 15W Ledengin emitters.
Real happy with them.
My goal is to equal a 400W HPS with about 60 Watts of LEDs
Get it right, and I can afford to grow my own meds.
(We pay $ .54 per Hwh, here).
Leds do grow decent bud.
I didn't believe it either until I saw what SnStealth managed with some Procyons.
So,
Lashed up a light or 3 of my own and started .
Getting decent sized buds from 2 50W. homebrew arrays.
