I would second the idea of installing net pots

also consider installing spray emitters in between each grow hole, and do a aeroponic setup in your pipes.

NFT in pipes didn't work well for me, the plants at the feed end grew a lot better than the ones at the drain end.

I eventually threw away the pipe system,not enough root room.
