Yessir, I do have the fan at a 45 degree angle, deliberately blowing on the bulb. My 10'' x 14'' passive intake just so happens to be right next to the box fan. been running a high of 79F degrees and a low of 75F degrees with the light on and warmed up.
I do have the light about 12'' to 14'' from the tops, depending on the size of the plant. Wanting a slight bit of stretch so the buds on the indica gal aren't so close to one another.
Hell, 20'' from a 400 hps is still better than the flouro's I had half ass rigged in there. That nightmare is long gone. Glad I was too embarrassed to snap a photo of the mess I called an 'OP'.
