MDCANNA: start small, and follow the K.I.S.S. policy. 5 gallon bucket, drop-in net pot, hydroton, rockwool starter cubes, and an airpump / airstone. I use GH Grow / Micro / Bloom three-part formula (mostly because GH has a great PDF for Week 1 - harvest to start from). Grow into other (more complicated) systems later. BTW: keep a detailed grow log so you can fiddle with the nutes moving forward for better yield.
