Well I've been noticing and thinking a lot lately about how people think that Marijuana is a gateway drug. As of right now I am afraid that for most people it is. This is a HUGE problem for the legitimization and legalization of marijuana. This is actually one of the things that makes the DEA crack down harder on weed. I believe, after some thought, that if marijuana was legalized it would not be a gateway drug anymore. This could GREATLY reduce the amount of people doing other harder more dangerous drugs. I have seen too many people get dragged to coke, heroine, and other hard drugs because some jackass that they smoked weed with got them to try these drugs. This DEEPLY saddens me and I just wanted to express this opinion with others. LEGALIZE TO PREVENT DANGERS WITH OTHER DRUGS!!!

They say that it's a gateway drug but in my experience most people had drank alcohol or smoked cigs before moving on to weed, so why arent these viewed as 'gateway drugs'. Its unfair to blame cannabis for human actions, in this world if they dont have something to blame then they'll find something. The government just refuses to accept that people will do drugs through their own choice and try to say that cannabis will lead us on to them, i'm pretty certain that if weed didnt exist the human race would still use harder drugs

There is no such thing as a gateway drug. No drug leads to other drugs. Every time a drug is put in front of you, YOU make the conscious whether or not to do that drug. Sorry that these people you know have no self worth and are willing to ruin there bodies with harmful drugs. You dont have to legalize a drug to prevent dangers from other drugs. Your argument will not get marijuana legalized. I am so discouraged that you spend time on the internet and you THINK marijuana is a gateway drug. Looks like the US government had its way with you since they got you to call marijuana a gateway drug.

Thank you guy above for knowing whats up. You owned the argument with one line. If weed didnt exist people would still do other drugs. Case closed. This thread should be too.
