    Reform!

I've recently been thinking, a good way to get noticed and be taken seriously would be a boycott of some sort. I don't know if I'm making any sense but we should hit the government where it hurts if we want to get the ball rolling on some sort of legalisation. I mean, theres no fair way we can get noticed, because they can simply ignore what they don't want to hear. I believe something radical should be done. Boycotting is just one option....but if high enough numbers were reached of people who were in favour of legalisation and regulation, then proper plans could be thought out. Strikes, constant organised public smoking, refusal to pay fines or show up at court. You get the idea, theres only so long they can hold out, and only so much room in a prison. Obviously the constitutional approach isnt working, so I think its time for more extreme approaches to be considered. Let me know what you think, and this goes for all countries.

    I like the idea.

But how do you propose we get everyone together to do something this radical? Where? When? How?

The key to this sort of thing is overcoming fear. Everybody has to start at his or her own pace, which is why these big actions rarely work. IMO legalization will happen when all of us take a series of small, consistent steps to normalize marijuana use in the public opinion.

I'm all for organizing events, and will keep listening, but that's just how I feel. Start a NORML chapter, write your reps, talk to your neighbors and friends, don't be afraid to civilly and respectfully share your opinion with those around you.

You could always organize a public 420 celebration in your town!

Yeah it's virtually impossible to start a country wide or world wide thing. We have Worldwide Marijuana March though. Just go to them or help organise one in your town/city. Search google for the website, it has a list of the cities that have the WMM

I like this side of the iron bars!

I don't know about anyone else but i like my freedom. Not showing up for a court order and or not paying fines will simply put more people behind bars for felony charges instead of a simple possesion charge which in most states is a minor charge. Personally i don't think the Gov. really cares how many people they lock up. There are to many sitting in jail now for a plant that imo is a harmless plant. Better way to get any reform is get out and vote and pay attention to those politicians who are fighting any sort of legal use. If you follow closely it seems to me we have a bunch of republicans and a few democrats for some reason or another that want to keep MJ a crime. So far it has been a struggle to get medicinal use somewhat looked at. Lets take one thing at a time. Keep writing our corrupt senators and get out and vote for those you know want a harmless plant put to good use. We still have idiots in our political system who still believe that MJ is that gateway drug and that you somehow turn into a serial criminal by smokeing weed. We all know the affects of weed but there are still brainwashed americans who watched way to many of those crazy government run anti-pot TV adds we seen many times.
