where would you be getting this omega 3 from?....herbal/nutrition store?

dont bother with it, couldnt see it doing anything good to the soil.
Add some compost if looking to boost soil fertility.

truuee, I go with ocean forest when kelp is truly needed. "Spring valley omega 3 fish oil 1200mg" would be the source.

I will do some tests' on a neighbor's basil plant before considering using with ferts etc. Thanks

p.s. nice gnome

The purified oil is not good for your plants. Don't add oils to soils. Use a water based fish emulsion instead.
And anyway, the 'good stuff' in fish emulsion is nitrogen and calcium. Those aren't supplied by the oils. TOTALLY different substance. Just like you wouldn't be happy drinking a big glass of Pure Blend Grow...

I don't claim to know the first thing about growing anything; hell, I can't make a Chia pet sprout.

Hemp seeds (and oil) are a great source of stuff including Omega 3 and 6.

So then, I'd assume that all cannabis seeds would have it too... but I'm not sure if it's also in the actual plant... so I guess it would seem pointless to feed omega acids to a plant that will be producing them in some form.
