Male vS Female?
are there any factors that may determine sex of plant earlier than the pre flowering and flowering stages?
a not so expierenced friend heard from a experienced friend that females tend to grow faster/bigger from sprout
is this true?
are there any other minor things that make give off the slightest guess as to female/male?

I actually heard the opposite, that males tend to be more vigorous and tend to grow larger than females.
Not sure if there is any truth to that though.

I've mostly read about males growing bigger too, but in my first grow I had both females and males of different sizes, all were started at the same time. The two biggest ones (of equal height and shape) turned out to be female and male and they looked almost identical except for the preflowers. So don't be so quick to throw out any plants that grow like a monster and take forever to show sex, it's still a 50/50 chance.
Another characteristic I've read about, and noticed for myself about the males during veg, is they really smell like cannabis. The females had no distinctive odor.

my 3 that i had, the female was the biggest and the 2 males were smaller.
It probably has nothing to do with the sex eh?

Size of seedling isn't a good indicator. Most of us grow hybrids, which can express themselves in a variety of ways.
Sativa dominant strains grow different than indica dominants, yet you can get both expressions from one seed batch.
Have heard of some folks using more nitrogen during veg to induce femaleness, but haven't tried this and am doubtful. If you feed a child more, does it change sex...?
Perhaps someday there will be a hormone spray we can use to gurantee females, but as far as I know, the only thing like that is Gibrellic Acid, to induce male flowers. (seed feminizing)

I've read a lot about using ethylene gas to help make more plants turn out female. Ripening bananas placed under the plants... yeah, it sounds fruity, but they give off natural ethylene gas and some people swear it works.
Then again, there was some "scientist" that claimed he could take a seedling sample and run it through all kinds of crazy stuff to look at the genes and tell if it was gonna be a male or female. So that whole debate on making a plant turn totally male or female beats the hell outta me, maybe if it was destined to be a male it could be switched to growing female with the right stuff/hormones.

Perhaps at its younger years it can be influenced.
Ethylene gas eh? This calls for some more research!

the environment and ferts can help influence sex.
females like almost perfect growing temps, no stress, alittle more nitrogen compared to p and k,
males are about the opposite. you can get more males with more stress, p and k compared to n,
