Cheap alternative for supplying C02

Ok I’ve been lurking around the forums for a few months and have never seen it mentioned. I have heard that spraying your plants with club soda can be a cheap method to provide your plants with C02. Makes sense to me, but wanted to know if anybody has tried.

I’m about to harvest my 1st successful grow, so if nobody has any ill words about the idea, I will experiment with my next grow.

LOL, true never thought of that. Well what hell am I going to do with all these cats, any body want to trade a co2 unit for cats, they also fertilize for free. To be honest you can bring up the co2 levels a bit by doing that, but if your venting like you should be it will be exhausted in to the outdoors pretty quick. It more hassle then benefit in my opinion. I bet there are more beneficial things that could be changed in your garden to bring up the efficiency, that would give you more yield with way less work.

interesting fact about CO2

with 1 person in a 1 bedroom apartment complex;

you roughly have 2-3 times more CO2 in the apartment than outside air

(source from a different MJ forum with a guy who had a meter to test CO2 levels)

Club soda may contain sodium for taste. It also comes in at a low pH due to dissolved CO2 going into solution as carbonic acid. It is also not going to give a ton of CO2 for the money and waste. A block of dry ice in a cooler with a few holes in it would be better, or a yeast/flour/sugar fermenter in the room (put it on a tray; they can bubble up and overflow).
Cat shit has high salt and will kill plants.
Most people will not benefit much, if any, from atmospheric enrichment. If light is your limiting factor as it is with flouro growers, adding CO2 is not going to help.

I like fanning in outdoor air from another room near the grow when it's cold enough outside to get away with it...This air contains between 0.03-0.04% CO2,(300-400 PPM),that naturally occurs in the air...Think I'm also gonna go back to fanning in some CO2,probably with the disposable CO2Boost,as I'm a ghetto grower who grows with an open closet during "lights on"...

Carbon dioxide

Carbon dioxide (CO2)is a surrogate for indoor pollutants emitted by humans and correlates with human metabolic activity. Carbon dioxide at levels that are unusually high indoors may cause occupants to grow drowsy, get headaches, or function at lower activity levels. Humans are the main indoor source of carbon dioxide. Indoor levels are an indicator of the adequacy of outdoor air ventilation relative to indoor occupant density and metabolic activity. To eliminate most Indoor Air Quality complaints, total indoor carbon dioxide should be reduced to below 600 ppm above outdoor levels. NIOSH considers that indoor air concentrations of carbon dioxide that exceed 1,000 ppm are a marker suggesting inadequate ventilation. ASHRAE recommends that carbon dioxide levels not exceed 700 ppm above outdoor ambient levels.[6] The UK standards for schools say that carbon dioxide in all teaching and learning spaces, when measured at seated head height and averaged over the whole day should not exceed 1,500 ppm. The whole day refers to normal school hours (i.e. 9.00am to 3.30pm) and includes unoccupied periods such as lunch breaks. Canadian standards limit carbon dioxide to 3500 ppm. OSHA limits carbon dioxide concentration in the workplace to 5,000 ppm for prolonged periods, and 35,000 ppm for 15 minutes.
