Electric clippers for bud manicuring
Does anyone know the link to that place (I think in Amsterdam) where they say that they're experimenting with different things relating to weed growing? On that site they advertise an electric weed clippers for manicuring. After getting my scissors repeatedly unstuck, my hand was pretty sore this last harvest. I was wishing for a clippers.
Has anyone used one of those? Are they worth the money? Are there other brands? Links please? I can't find that web site now. Could a person just use a horse clippers or something? Maybe a human clippers?

Growing Marijuana Super Tool: Bonsai Hero Electric Cannabis Trimmer
That's the one hatch, thank you very much. Now has anyone ever used it, or one like it? And where can I get a lower cost alternative? Their cheapest one is $208 U.S.
Anyone, is it worth the money if you harvest under a pound every 3 months?

Hey Opie ,
Mosta these contraptions I've seen are just vicious to your buds , I wanna smoke all the trichs that end up all over the machine itself . I've yet to see a pr. of automated scissors that are anywhere near long and pointy enough to be effective either . Our weapon of choice is a lil pair of pointy ass sping loaded scissors made by fiskar . Them and a bottle of rubbing alky and a rag -n- you'll be done in no time , w/o blisters , and not quite so many cramps .
Peace
Crispi

That's exactly what I use, although I think mine have an orange/gray handle. These things are great for precision manicuring, and being spring loaded, they're definitely easier on the hands than a lot of other shears. They're wicked sharp though, and while I don't get blisters from using them, I've poked numerous holes in my fingers with the needle-sharp point.
On the box, there should be a disclaimer. Something along the lines of: "Warning! Don't trim while stoned!"

I've only trimmed one harvest and thought it was gonna be fun...after the 1st hour I was ready to just pay some one else to trim the rest. I did one whole plant myself that yielded 5 ounces dry and my friends did the other 2 plants about 6 ounces total dry. It takes a lot of concentration and became very tedious but is also rewarding to see the before and after. I couldn't imagine having to trim multiple pounds, shit would takes days!!! My friend knew a guy that was paying people $20hr to trim, and they would drive you up to Humbolt area pay for hotel i think, all the weed you wanted to smoke. Sounded cool but I don't know if I could sit there and trim for 8hrs straight...

Fun? Have you ever had a big harvest and no help? You need a damn bionic arm, and the fun wears off after the first 10 minutes.

You see? You see, people? I'm not the only one.
xcrispi,
Well crap, now I've got more decisions. I'm assuming those are under $20, so I'm probably going to give those a try, at least initially. You know, now that I'm thinking about it I realize I have a an old rusty pair of something very similar out in the shed.

That would be blasphemy!
They're very cheap, and should be available at a Home Labyrinth near you. That's where I found mine. Anything not driven by a motor will definitely get tedious after several plants, but you'll be able to make precision cuts with these and they're nice to have around if you don't like taking clones with razorblades.
Remember my proposed disclaimer, though! Your fingers will thank you for it.

Those Fiskar's are all I've ever used for any kind of manicuring or harvesting.
They are $11 at Fred Meyer's and about $20 at the grow store.
I just use a razor blade and peroxide to clean the blades

Those little springy florists' shears crispi showed are EXCELLENT.
Personally, I use a pair of long, very sharp, fine-bladed sewing scissors. They are similar to hairdressers' shears but lighter.
Demeter taught me a trick to keeping your scissors nice and free-moving:
Get 2 pairs of the scissors you like the best.
Take a mug and fill it with 90% rubbing alcohol, or the regular 70% if you can find it.
When not in use, keep your trimming scissors in there.
You can only use one pair at a time (I assume lol) so the other will be soaking itself clean in the alcohol. Just remove and wipe off with a rough rag before use.
Voila, no more sticking!
I can't bear the thought of trimming my lovely buds with electric trimmers

And I just assumed that would be the way to go. I'm glad I posted about this first, so I can get people's opinions.
Thanks for that idea stinky, I'm going to do that. Did you mean that you keep your extra scissors submerged all the time, or only when you're doing manicuring?
