Thread: 7 Days into flowering...

Hey everyone, I'm 7 days into my first flowering and I'm growing White Widow and Hindu Kush. I just wanted to post some pictures and get some people's opinions.

I agree, when i switch to 12/12 I dont usually notice any difference untill a coupel of weeks. But they look real good anyway

You say you have done this before?

What kinda yeild do you get out of that light and reflector, out of curiosity?

This is actually my first time, but we veg'd from July 15th-September 1st, and they grew 18 inches under the compact flouro and the reflector. We added another compact flouro to the side of the plants, here's some new pictures.

We got the little hood reflector for 6 bucks or so at Home Depot, and I'm pretty sure it was worth every penny.

I'm just not sure how everything's gonna turn out under the cfcs. We got a relatively high P fert, but from what I've read I'm a little worried about the buds not being as full as they could be if I had a more expensive light.

Well allow me to share how I might think it will turn out if you continue your same path...

You will wind up with a few joints per plant. Thats all.

If someone were to present to me a grow like that and said, "here...you take it from here..." I would do the following:

1. Buy 6 more lights like the ones you have. (not the reflectors)
2. Place 3 lights on all her sides 45 degrees above her mid point.
3. Place a white sheet or white cardboard on the top of the carpet to aid reflection.
4. Foil wrap the pots.
5. Add white marble chips to the soil top for more reflection.
6. Make sure I gotta damn good fan blowing the heat off them.
7. Add a 100W regular light bulb on them at the top next to the CFL you have.

Now, I would do everyone of those things.......or......

1. Buy a 250W - 400W HPS....and a good fan

If I did get an HPS, which I'm leaning really hard towards now, would it save this yeild? And should what should I use as a hood? Would the thing we have up now work?

Sorry for the barrage, but now I'm thinking about the greater good...

Yes, if you put them under HPS now, you would increase your main kola sizes and perhaps some secondaries but not much.

Veg state is where you 'prep' the plant for flowering spots....it is too late to do that now. It is too late to improve your plant a whole lot....but you can improve your main kola yields.

Its tuff to estimate but I would guess an HPS will quadruple your yeild over what you are showing now.

As for a hood....you can build your room around it. You dont need a hood.

I think those people are just using 5 cfl's to save money. Those pictures suck too, probably a bad camera.

Did you at least put a 100W reg. cheap incandescent in there? Or two?

Hey I found pictures of the Hindu Kush that came off of one of these plants, it was 10 grams total. And it rules. A lot.
