To Trim the Bush or not? A DWC ScrOG

Ok so obviously the fan leaves are blocking out the bud sites. It looks like a god awful mess, but i read than fan leaves are the 'factories' of the plant. The screen is roughly 2.5sqft. Lots of budsites, lots of fan leaves.

    Healthy looking plant.
Don't trim her at this point. All the fan leaves are needed to carry on photosynthesis and turn C02 into sugars and RESIN!!! That's a bit of an oversimplification but leave them on.

Take the big ones out, they'll grow more fan leaves and you will get some light to your buds.

If they're already growing buds, you don't want the plant wasting precious energy trying to re-grow fan leaves.

so thats 2 against 1 for.

I think that normally you wouldn't want to trim leaves, but these are scrog'd and the leaves are blocking the bud sites. A lot of bud sites.

So... do bud sites need light? Bontanically. Do the actual flowers need light? I don't think so, but i am unsure. Also maybe they only need light for the last few weeks (I think they produce the bulk of there THC in the last 2 weeks, right?).

I am very unsure of what to do. I will definatly not trim them unless i get a good arguement for trimming...atleast not at this stage of flowering (day 30)

I'd rather have well placed big leaves getting light than a huge mass of leaves blocking the sun for everyone....

I only say this because it worked for me, have a read through my thread see how much leaves I had and then when I got rid of most of the huge fan leaves they re-grew in a few days and I got much more growth.

    Good luck whatever dude!

The only reason to trim fan leaves in SCROG is the really low ones that get no light anyway to improve air flow around the stems and let you access your hydro system better if that's what you're using.

The buds themselves will grow as long as the plant is getting enough juice from the sun to grow them.
