Thread: How do you identify moldy weed?

I am not sure where to post this question, so I will start here. ABout 6 weeks ago I purchased 2 grams of some dank. Unfortunately I havent had a chance to smoke it, until 3 days ago. I kept the weed stored air-tight in it's own plastic baggie it came with, inside of a sealed-shut jar for about 6 weeks. I notice that the weed has brighter sections of green then other parts of it. It is like multicolored in a way. My question is how do I identify moldy weed, and when does the molding phase kick in if storing in air tight container in your cool-dark closet?
last question is if I should smoke it, or throw away for safety?

but smoking mold might fuck you up

If the buds weren't properly dried then it could have molded. (If the stems snap when you break them it is a good indicator that it is dry)
If it smells bad, it may be moldy...a picture would help. I wouldn't risk smoking moldy bud as MetalMoses said it cold fuck you up (not in a good way)

I realize that this weed is extremly soft, the stems wont snap off, it is warm, and has patches of different colors ranging from dark green to grey. I will throw this weed away. My last question is, I unfortunately smoked this 3 days ago, and yesterday I had diarhhea symptoms and nearly threw up. However today I feel as if I am fine. What should I do? I heard these stories of shit growing in ur lungs, should I worry about this?

Depends on what type of mold is growing on it, it could do nothing at all, it could make you sick to severly sick and in extreme cases it may even kill you.

Can you guys tell me exactly what mold looks like? As far as I know, mold is a white spurry kind of patch that grows? I examined the buds closely, and I dont see anY furry white substances of any kind. The only thing that is white is the thc crystals, which the buds are very rich in. I am going to dry these buds by leaving them in open air for a few days, and then try them. As for the diarhhea i had, i realize that a a couple of nights ago I had coco tea RIGHT before bed. As of now, I am experiencing no symptoms of anything, so I am quite confident there is nothing wrong with me. As for the doctor, the last thing I want is to get NARCED lol

Mold can look a million ways. You can't necessarily identify it by the color, shape, or growth patterns.

Smoking the mold (i have learned) will not likely harm you. the high temperature of burning and the atmosphere of the lungs will, in combination, destroy the spores. you could, however, still have an allergy or something. I would suggest removing any moldy part, drying REAL well in a warm place, and smoke. It will taste like shit, though.

Smoke it all before it gets MOLDY

dry it out for a few days, then throw it in ur freezer for another... by the time the smoke hits your lungs, there wont be any life left in it...

this process may dry your weed out too much and make it really harsh... if so, put a few drops of water on the bowl right befor u light up... it'll soak in and it makes the smoking experience quite pleasent unless u add too much

but dont throw it away. if thats what your going to do, mail it to me and ill smoke it.

yeah, i got an 8th of dank from a guy a year back and it was crystaly as fuck, nearly white, almost as dank as what i sell now heh...anyways, the last gram left was SOLID crystals...turns out....it was mold...i was sick for a good 2-3 weeks with a lung infection...lol...fucking gay ass mold posing as crystals
