More Cheap Shots To The Marijuana Community

All my life I have been against stereotyping. Now we have these ads directed by our public service administration leading our youth to accept a stereotype. According to the Office of National Drug Control Policy and the Partnership for a Drug-Free America, smoking marijuana makes you stupid and listen to Indie rock? So now the public is to believe that if you smoke marijuana, you become a stupid mindless indie rock fan… From all my years of smoking marijuana I have never limited my horizons for music. If anything, marijuana helped me discover a more vast array of music. It angers me that these hypocrites are creating a stereotype, yet promoting a society where people are not placed into these stereotypes. By both my parents and grade school, i was taught that stereotyping groups of people is wrong, and most importantly, to treat everyone with respect regardless of their background, culture, or the color of their skin. I don’t understand where this fits in. Where did they gather this information from, how did they conclude once and for all that smoking marijuana will place you into the stereotype of a stupid, mindless, Indie rock listener? Where is the experimental proof?

I want the same proof that scientist and doctors, all over the world have studied marijuana, to their conclusion, that marijuana is greatly beneficial. Marijuana has helped so many people, from life threatening diseases, such as Cancer, AIDS, and other numerous ailments. Why is marijuana banned, is it because it makes people listen to Indie rock? well i cant say that im the most useful or intelligent person while on pot, and most people arnt.

however, when i am not high, i am a perfectly functioning being who looks fowards to the weekends to tend his plants and smoke his harvests.

or the commercial where a teen is sitting in his room and many people flash by the screen, at one point hes holding a joint another a beer. the message is "live above the influence". but if the teen is following the influence of this commercial than is he any less of an addicted sheep. waiting the govt. or the partnership for a drug free america to tell him what and when he should do. just sad

This shit happens with drug ads like these (which are ultimately about pharmaceuticals money), race (which is about the government controlling EVERYONE), and globalization (which is about the rich exploiting the rest of us, in every country).

I cease to get worked up anymore.

Strong, silent resolve to practice civil disobedience is all I can muster regarding the drug ads. And maybe write a few letters to my congresspersons.

And regarding race? When asked, check "Other" and specify "human" on those dumbass survey forms.
