my message to my former team-captain...i am no longer part of the team

this is a message i composed to the captain of a chess team of which i was formerly a member. do not worry, there is no jargon or unfamiliar terms you will encounter, just a lot of questions and a lot of heart...i think.

Hello, jeckgo!

what do you mean, "who always lose by timeouts?" i have won several games and lost several games, many due to error and many due to timeouts. do you mean to say that you cannot have someone on your team who loses consecutively by timeout? i try to be serious about chess but there are sometimes when the match i am playing is too difficult or stressful to continue. that is my problem and the solution is practical, and that is to study more. perhaps you have encountered some similar difficulties in your matches. do you find ease in knowing what to think about on the chess board or do you sometimes face the dilemma of 'confusion at the board?' mind you i am still talking about chess as that dilemma can be analogous with life. i have digressed. but surely a chess player is responsible for more than just the intelligence of their thought, then again what else is there about chess that is not thinking, strategizing, and reasoning? ah-ha! so my dilemma is not the confusion i experience at the board but the laziness in my studies! if all chess is are those things i deliberated, then the other element of the game must be the individual who is playing. and it would seem obvious that the individual who would play chess must have some sort of adhering to the calculating world that is chess, and they must still have the quality of discipline in order to be good at the game because we know that talent is wasted if not disciplined. do you think that in order to be very good at chess that one must first, enjoy and accept the challenges that will be presented to them and secondly, be disciplined in their study of the game itself?
