Just the other day I picked up a carton of Hempmilk, which is made by Living Harvest. I'm beginning my experimentation with non-dairy milks so I figured this would be a great one to start with. It's a little thick, sorta has a slight grainy texture to it, but the taste isn't bad.

Good things about it:

700 mg Omega-3
2600 mg of Omega-6 with GLA
All 10 Essential Amino Acids
4 grams of Protein
Essential Vitamins A (18%), B12 (25%), D (25%), E (13%), Riboflavin (31%) and Folic Acid (5%)
Essential Minerals Magnesium (19%), Potassium (3%), Phosphorus (43), Iron (15%) and Zinc (9%)
46% of RDA of Calcium

It's Kosher

Cholesterol free, no trans fat


Downside:

It costs $5 (US Dollars) for just 1/4 gallon (32oz; 1qt)



I know that if laws were different this could cost less, like the cost of rice milk and soy milk. I think if I add a little water to it I can stretch it a little, making it more like the consitency of skim milk.

Anyone else tried the Hempmilk?

Hemp milk is made of simply the seeds of the hemp plant and won't have a psychoactive effect, but it's hella good for you. I bet it would pwn in Grape Nuts.
I'm making hempseed flour crepes for a big party this weekend, and this gives me the idea to use hemp milk in the batter instead of real milk, and make them... VEGAN! That would be awesome for some of the guests, who I know are vegetarians.

I bet if you crossed out the word "soy" and replaced it with "hemp" you could make your own hemp milk with the help of this!

I just tried the chocolate hempmilk. it tastes pretty damn good, a lot better than the regular. I still haven't opened up the vanilla yet...

The shelf life of these is great, most of the ones I got don't expire until November. One expires in Feb. of next year.

If you're lucky you can find them on sale for around $3.50 - $4.

I've been drinking the Organic 1% Milk and its been pretty awesome, but its also like 4Bucks for a 1/2GAL.
