I am taking a vacation to Maui this August. I am very excited, cant wait to get to the beach. But, has anyone been there and hunted for bud or known any body or know of anything about bud in Hawaii?I hear its supposed to be awesome there but, is it hard to get or what? Thanks alot!

Ha ha! Funny you should ask. The very first time I went to Maui was with my brand new girlfreind at the time (now my wife). I knew she didn't smoke pot, and I was sort of in a middle phase in my life where I didn't smoke it as much as I did before or as much as I do now. It wasn't very important to me at the time. We went on drive along this little road to nowhere, and as we came around a corner this kind of scetchy-looking Hawaiian guy who was sitting on the side of the road jumped out in front of us, held out a bag and said, "Hey! Want to buy some weed?" I had to pass on it, so I never really had a good look to see if it was any good. But I had the impression it wasn't hard to come by if people jump out into the middle of the road to offer it to any random tourist driving by.

Even if you don't come up with any weed, Maui is great. You won't need weed to have a good time.

I did not go to Maui, but toured other parts of Hawaii about 14 years ago. I had a similar experience to Dragonrider. The day I got there a native of the island we were visiting tried to sell me weed, and I turned him down - thinking I'd have plenty of other offers. It didn't happen, but we had a great time anyway. If stuff is available, and all else seems OK, I'd recommend grabbing some while you have the chance. I've had real Hawaiian (imported), years ago, and it's great.

Maui is an amazing island... respect the locals, most are mellow as long as you are cool. There is good herb (pakalolo) grown on the island, though getting it at a decent price might be a challenge. It can be found all around the island, heading out to Hana is probably a good idea (long windy road, but beautiful). Cops aren't too worried about evil cannabis smokers, but try to stay low profile.

^ yes, I saw a couple people sitting along the Hana Highway trying to sell buds. And a couple people in the city trying to sell buds. It ain't hard to come by some really good buds. It ain't hard to get ripped off by some local selling fake buds either. Look for people sitting on the beach late at night too. Ask them for a light or something. They're probably out on the beach in the dark for a reason.
