I honestly feel terrible that you got ripped off so badly. Not only is that not even close to 8.5 g, that weed looks like shit. I would take that bag back to the dealer, get my money back, and slap her in the face with the bag for trying to rip me off like that. Damn.

Never buy your green pre-ground up! Although that looks like shake from a large batch of weed rather than ground up. I'd say you're being ripped off beyond belief, and the fact that you haven't questioned other qualities about this stuff other than it's weight I'd say you've been getting shafted by this so called dealer for a while.

I understood what he was saying, I had a pipe that weighed exactly an ounce, and I used to see how close my ounces were like that, but then I'd put them on the scale to see if I was right.
I get better schwag than that for 40 an oz, Hell, I get good mids for 200 an oz.

could be really really dense stuff, i get some of that sometimes - 7 grams can be pretty disappointing when the volume is comparable to 3.5 of heads. Plus, seeds i think are more dense than weed. Thus, lots of seeds, lots of weight without lots of volume.
for 40 though, I'm guessing you don't live in cali but thats not terrible by some standards - assuming the shit's at least a little potent
