Thread: Damn you, cheap lighter. Damn you to hell!

If it's not a Bic, it's not shit. I've never had a Bic lighter break down on me before it ran out of fuel, and the fuel is used so efficiently that they keep producing a flame for week, after week, after week.

Don't try selling me your crappy little green rectangle of disappointment. That fuckin thing is almost certain to break down before this week is over.

Your flashy zippo doesn't impress me either. Quite the fancy Harley Davidson emblem you have on it, and oh, such cool *clicking* action. But that zippo of yours leaves me with the taste of jet fuel in my mouth everytime I use it. Fuck that.

And what about those sculpture lighters? You know, the ones that look like grenades, or guns, or whatever. Nice novelty, but it doesn't fit in my pocket.

Or those torch lighters. Holy shit, I'm trying to light the bowl, not cut steel.

Yes, BICS are the best. I've never had one crap out before its time. It's those cheap, clear plastic lighters that are shit. I've had the flicker go out on me when they were brand new. Loaded with fuel, but no spark to light it with. Very sad when you walked 4km one way to a forest to have a chill smoke and it fucks up on you.

Torch lighters are good for windy weather though. There's nothing more that pisses me off that trying to light a bowl in the wind. It just doesn't work.

I think there are a lot of things people who smoke weed have in common and this my friend is one of them. Everybody knows if it aint a BIC is aint SHIT. Everyone also knows that those fake me out bics the clear see through ones are shit. I've broken 3 of those in a 30 minute time span

lol... bics are reliable, but if you get one that's not 'calibrated' right (and it happens) you get some miserable little piss poor excuse for a flame and you can't tweak it to make it any bigger.. the only other good lighter is a KING lighter...

and lol i have a zippo with a harley davidson logo on it... but zippos don't work too well for lighting bowls, unless you got a pipe zippo...

I love bics, but my favorite is the crickets. They are the perfect size for the way I like to hold em. And they light the first time you flick them, EVERY TIME. They have some kind of plastic wheel that just works.. I cant explain it.

Bics are my favourite by far. But torch lighters are close in second when im hitting a bong because they're so prescise! It's nice being able to burn only 1/4 the bowl, get stoned off a nice big hit, and still see that green plant we all love so much in there still!

Couple zippos here too..the good ole "stoned again" one but they taste like ass not that i've tasted ass just saying nor do I ever want to taste ass...anyway

i actually prefer the taste of zippo's over butane lighters, they're just not too terribly convienent so i use butane lighters... not to mention it totally blows ass when you spend 20 or more dollars on a lighter and accidently drop it down your houses septic vent (little pipe in the top of the roof that's tied directly into the septic lines)

yea dude thats the worst thing to have to deal with stoned is a crappy lighter. i put one of those crappy ones in my pocket cause i thought i heard my mom walk in. when i pulled it out of my pocket cause i relized i was hearing shit the flint broke off and so did the gas release thing. had to finish the bowl with matches. those godamn things are the most annoying, worse than a crappy lighter

i literally "laughed my ass off" a couple of times reading this... but i do agree that if it aint a "mini bic" it aint shit

i just love those things.... so wonderful and small and no worries

but when i do get the occasional crap lighter and it breaks, i just walk to the road and throw it down real hard and make it explode, its my small way of saying "who got the upper hand now fucker!!!!"

i have the in between size of full sized bics and minis. my buddy has a 6'' bic, its pretty crazy, yet fucking retarded as to who needs one that massive?

agreed, but seriously its not even pocket sized, i can understand if you want more fuel, but by having like 5x more fuel, you reduce the portability as well as the efficiency(minus firepower)

Bic's are good for sure, but i guess you guys dont get Clipper lighters in the usa? These things are the shit, refillable and you can replace the flint.

yes we have them, and i hate those lighters... they are shit if you ask me.. personally i don't even use bics, or any disposable lighter, i use a Ronson lighter that is refilable with electric ignition... not much bigger than a bic lighter, and i've had one last for well over 6 months before i threw it and an ashtray straight in a wall, shattering it all....

i also agree. bic's are all i use. a friend of mine that i smoke with regulary loves zippos and those clippers and the sliders and the cheap ass ones you get at the dollar store and i tell him i wont use them. call me stubborn but ill put down the bong, dig out change out of my car and drive to the nearest gas station to buy a bic. and i hate those mini ones too, they seem the same price and your only getting like a 1/3 of the lighter. so nothing but bics here and im serious.

and for god sakes de-virginize your bic when you get it! and by that i mean peal off that sticker that tells you WARNING-fire burns! and take off that child proof thingy i hate them! actually i take that back about the warning sticker, lately ive been marking that part with different colored sharpies to show my friends that its my fire NOT THERES because for some reason everyone always pockets my lighter, never happens to anyone else haha.

lol... no not really.. the ones i'm talking about come in a three pac, aren't ovalish like a bic, but aren't square either, they have sides almost like they were beveled on a wood router (if you know what that is) the first one i used like i said, lasted 6 months before it got slammed into a wall and shattered, the lighter was still working, i just lost my temper... but yes usually the elec. ignitions go out relatively quickly, but on these particular ones, no... after that first one i used another one, from the same package for a couple of months and it went out on me, i was barred out, so i don't know how it went out, i just kept asking about my lighter and after quite a few times of everyone telling me it broke when i was barred out, i came to realize it was gone... few months later found another three pack of the same kind of lighters, the black one in it, was broke from the get-go but i've been using the white one from the pack for well over a month now, not even showing any kind of wear.... and don't forget i smoke mainly bowls and am atleast a pack a day smoker... so wear and tear can't really even come into picture here, as i probably put more wear and tear on lighters than the average person will.

and these ronsons, ive heard good things about them. i looked on what looks to be their website http://www.ronsoncorp.com/index.cfm and if so....they look like zippo's to me. explanations and first hand experience, anyone?

actually, that happens to alot of people... usually tho, it's just because they were using that lighter to light the bowl, and they end up with it, not even realizing they took someone else's lighter, just a common occurance you gotta get used to when you're a stoner, atleast if you're smokign wth someone that doesn't have their own lighter...

taking off the child proof saftey thing, be careful, that mother fucker can spring up like 1,000 mph (ok i'm exagerating, but it's worthy of the exageration lol) once i was doing that and the bitch popped straight into my eye, my eye hurt for the next day or so like i just got sucker punched by arnold schwarzanegger (yeah it's misspelled, but i don't care)

lol they make zippo- types too, that are just cheap rip offs of zippos, i'm talking about butane lighters... i'll try to find a pic, but i doubt i'll be able too...

edit: ok wasn't as hard asi thought, just go to the page listed, and click on the "comet" lighters, that's the exact kind i have, but both times i've bought the packs of 3, they came in yellow, white and black.. didn't know they made any other colors then that... anyways, those are damn good lighters... last longer than a bic if you have the butane to refill it... never will you hear of a single lighter lasting a pot head that smokes atleast a pack a day, around 6 months...
