i started when i was 13. i think kids should at least wait until theyre in highschool, but i do know a few rad grade school stoners and theyr cool about it. i guess it doesnt matter what age, as long as your mature enough

Even though I started toking at 14 (I'm 33 now) I think it should be in the 18 - 21 neighborhood, same as drinking. BUT, that being said, my vote was for 16.

See, I live in Canada where the legal drinking age is 19. While that is a hard and fast law when it comes to bars, beer stores, liquor stores, etc, 16 seems to be the age where people are either sneaking it or drinking at a liberal parented friends house... I found (for me anyways) being exposed to intoxicants early better prepared me for the college years (no alcohol poisoning, few blackouts, etc). I think the same should go for weed... legal in the 18 - 20 range but with a responsible introduction at an earlier point. Even a little irresponsible use is good... test the limits... just don't be stupid.

Well i first got drunk at the age of 13, and got toked first time at the age of 16.
I'm 23 now, but i think smoking age should be 16ish for free recreational use... 12 with parental permission...

And since i see most of the people on this forum are from US, i gotta that 21 years... somenthing weird happened in US to make that kind of law... almost all countries in Europe have every single right at 18, which means drinking, smoking , voting, driving etc... and in some countries it's 16 for smoking and drinking...
I fail to see the point of a 21 year age limit ...

Any age is fine, but minimum should be like 12, anyone should at least try the reefer once, expecially in ur teen yeers, where u and ur buddies can get together and have some bomb shit just toking and having fun. Hey what's the harm in that

I'd vote for the same level of control as alcohol, tobacco and gambling, because I don't like double standards.

Each of these cause at least as much harm as cannabis could conceivably cause; each is legal for adults, each is government regulated to stop shonky operators preying on the vulnerable and limiting the health and social impacts; and each is taxed, a portion of revenue going towards support services for people experiencing other difficulties because of their tobacco, alcohol or poker machine habit.

I can't see a valid reason to isolate cannabis.

Over 18 to purchase it independently, penalties for sales to minors and intoxicated drivers and some parental discretion with regard to introducing a late teen to weed in a safe manner. It's ok to share a drink with your teenager at home, you are modelling responsible drinking behaviour. But give your 17 year old a joint when they express curiosity and you'll be publicly humiliated as an 'unfit mother'.

It all seems a bit silly to me.
