I agree, Decriminalized. If it was legal to own it, smoke it, grow it, give it away, everything but sell it I'd be happy.

decriminalized. smoke it, grow it, etc... won't go to jail or prison for it...
oh, and the weed in amsterdam is cheap as fuck. i'd think it would be cheap here too if legalized/decriminalized, considering our economy works like theirs does... less risk, less effort, more supply = not as expensive.
1.5+ million deaths per year directly due to the consumption of alcohol, JUST in the US alone... and it's legal (for people 21+).
close to the same amount of deaths per year with cigarettes, just in the US alone (i think it's something like 8 million per year in Russia), and it's legal.
no deaths per year directly due to the smoking/consumption of Cannabis... and it's ILLEGAL.
i don't see why they can't at least decriminalize it. i think it's a political reason... god i fucking hate politicians.

Course it should be legal, but it never will be. We'll have to live with that like.
I personally don't mind either way.

Decriminalized so you can grow up to 5 plants for your own use. That way you don't have to pay the supplier's markup due to the risk of being busted.

i voted no and i don't give a shit who knows it
why the hell should i care what a government i've already opted out of thinks of something i do in the privacy of my own home. shit, keep it illegal for all i care. that way every time i light-up, i'm furthering the cause of anarchy (in my own little way.) small steps - evolve this failed experiment right out of existence.

it doesnt matter whether they legalize it, if you think about it seeds are already widely available, and even if they stopped selling supposed 'specialist lighting' any flouro will do, therefore while people are still smokin it, its never going away, as for this poll, what do you think people are gonna answer on a cannabis site... its a bit of a no-brainer...

We all know that there is no reason for it to be illegal. So thus it should be.
But, i currently like the system we have in canada. It's illegal. And it's working great for users. I dont really care too much if it does become legal (except that i would like to grow it as a job)
it's totaly different than in the states

I dont think many people here know what decriminalization means.
it means it's illegal but you wont go to jail when you get caught
you'll get big ass fines.
big ass fines that are much easier for the cops to give out. so more smokers will be harmed

"I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than those attending too small a degree of it. "
this is one of my favorite Thomas Jefferson quotes...this is what our nation was founded on..Liberty. I think politicians often forget that. An american should have the liberty to partake in activities that do not harm others or society. Marijuana does not come at an expense to society, the drain on society is from the crimes and violence commited because of its prohibition.

for those of you who cant believe why alchohol is legal and not pot....there isnt a strong enough marijuana lobby....norml does probably the most to push for legislative reform...alchohol can remain legal because so much money goes to keeping it legal, if all the drug dealers put there money together to form a strong anti-prohibition weed lobby then we could make some headway.. but that is comparable to the mob pushing for legalization during alchohol prohibition. Thebest thing we can do to make it legal is send money to NORML, since politicians refuse to represent the public interest its up to businesses and lobbies. Could you imagine a weed ad..."WE encourage you to enjoy our fine northern lights, and remember always smoke responsibly" cant wait..

I do agree that it should be legalized but under a certain rules and policies. And to maintain it in keeping it legal, I believe people should consume it in a responsible matter, (don't go out driving while your high, go to work high, etc)

Marijuana has to be legalised or decriminalised at least! On the whole earth ever in history there has been NO and thats exactly zero deaths from it ever! Aspirin, Alcohol, Tobacco, E, Coke and everything else there have been many deaths.
I have already signed many petitions and even contacted Tony Blair to tell him exactly everything - I said to tax it so anyone can buy it from corner shops and stuff but only sales to 18 and over. I told him that we could be able to grow our own stuff so no one can go to dealers to get harder drugs.. clever me! lol

It should be legaliZed (note the "z"), but should also have the same restrictions as cigs and/or alcohol does. And that really doesn't matter to those under 18 or 21, cause just like cigs/alcohol, there's always someone you know that's older who will get it for you.
Also, I agree that the govt will hellishly tax weed if it were legal. BUT I firmly believe that the whole government (not just the U.S., but they're the center of it) is corrupt, and they don't care about cannabis legalities since they're too busy fucking up the world. If you don't believe that go to YouTube - Alex Jones - Martial Law 911 (Part 1) and see what's really happening (especially in NY).
