5 weeks flowering 2-150 HPS New Mexico closet grow
Hey everyone, im in the heart of new mexico and got me a crop finally ! 2-150 HPS lights, 2 DWC Hydro kits. 8 plants total. Using GH veg and bloom w/Koolbloom for the last 2 weeks of flowering. Ph is 6-6.5, temp is a little higher because of the desert heat about 80-85 during the light hours and 76-80 at night. I have a swag, White rhino, NLXBB. Im looking for clones or beans to trade..anyone? peace in new mexico Ollie

This is a close up at 6 weeks of flowering. Using GH Veg and bloom. I will start using the Koolbloom in another week or so. Do they look small for there age? They are bagseed, White rhino and NlxBB (from front to back). Thanks for the help. Medicinal is now in New Mexico !!!  anyone else in new mexico with a green thumb? P7050956.JPG

I have a 400 hps but it was way too much heat. Is it because of the strains? Mostly sativa I believe, will they put on more weight? peace

THATS WHY I SAID AIRCOOLED,WILL PAY FOR ITSELF IN THE FIRST CROP!!YER THEY WILL AT LEAST DOUBLE IN WEIGHT,PROBS,BUT STILL A BIT LAME!!BETTER THAN NOWT THO.CONGRATS!!

They do look a little small for 5 weeks. And real skinny branches so you wouldn't expect skinny branches to produce big buds anyways. Maybe you need some better lights. Just don't cut too early and eventually they should get to a decent size where you will like. Even if it takes 10 weeks or more.

yeah i figured if i waited lober than the tipical 8 weeks they should get bigger. I guess the 2-150's werent enought light so they streched hence the thin braches. Im gonna fire up a 400 hps and see but its this new mexico heat I have to worry about indoors. Now its about 84 in the closet with the ac on and 3 fans!!

84 is fine. My room some times reaches temps up to 90 and they are fine. Not saying that you shouldn't try to bring it down, always should try to make it better but it can be tolerated.

thanks orangeman...so if the heats is up that high it should only affect the denseness and weight right? I only have 2-3 weeks left till i cut them, if they dont seem to gain weight in the next week or two ill cut them early and wait a month or two for the next crop. Or maybe try my luck with a CFL grow because of the heat in new mexico. peace Ollie

I dunno how much heat affects density or weight because one of my plants are getting dense in these high temps and it surrre is packing weight. Those things are hanging over like crazy right now lol I need support for them. I have heard of too much heat messing with those two things but maybe only in scorching hot grow rooms or rooms without at least some breeze of cool air. My room may be hot but the fan keeps it all good and just opening the door cools that room off a lot.

Here are the ladies at 8 weeks, the shwag is a good sativa/indica mix, nice dense budz with a spicy peppery smell and taste. I sampled all of them last night..lol..couldnt wait. The white rhino was a little smaller but ripe at 8 weeks, its coming down this weekend. The NLxBB still needs 3 weeks but the budz are already good size. The heat was very high inside and out..even with my new ac unit the temp inside was 84 F, I also have my 400 hps fired up in the pic instead of the 2-150's, i wanted to see if more light gave more weight before harvest and I believe it did. one way is to vent it , another is cfl , a combination of all these would be the best to me , u can get cfls and use hps for 6 hours somewhere on the middle opf the day , the temps dont affect that much the flower its self as the temps in a bright light day of august under the sun may reach 50c its the roots that need to be in excact temps so to have best floral production (22-28) , try making the intake of the venting at the bottom so to let the soil chill before fresh air gets heated

They're lookin beautiful! I'm glad you were able to get a 400 watter. For your next grow you should see much better results! Now if only I could do something about the heat in my room so I can get one as well lol.

I figured if the roots were cooler than the air around the plant its ok but if the roots get too warm then the plant starts to wilt..I did move the vent fan lower..right infront of the water resevoir to keep the water cooler and it seems to work. The 400 hps is bad ass, its actually cooler than the 2-150's. A lot more weight too from the 400. still 83 F inside...peace

Cool but make sure the temp of that soil doesn't get tooo low. You don't want root rot. Also I'm just noticing the mini garden at the bottom lol. I like that  .

yeah im using 2 - 65 watt cfl lights of america lights for the clones and mothers, saving genetics for further use..lol...anyone need any WhiteRhino or NLxBB clones? lol..
