Discoloration

Ok, so a question here...

I'm doing a closet CFL grow: I have five Holland's Hope in a converted dressor under six CFLs, each of them running 46 watts and 2600 lumens. I've vegged them for five weeks and switched to 12/12 on Tuesday.

This weekend has been fairly stressful for them so far: my mother came to visit last night so I had to shut down the lights so the lightleaks and smell would stay under control. She left an hour ago (completely ignorant, yay!!), and my boyfriend is coming in an hour here (I know, all at once, poor plants) so I just turned on the lights to give them some light and I noticed that while the fan leaves are still a nice dark green, the young centre leaves and future bud sites are all a pale yellowy green.

I hope this isn't too much of a newbie question... I'm wondering if the paling is related to the switch to 12/12? Are my lights not enough for the 12/12, or is it because they've had to go without for longer (the lights were down yesterday from 7 pm to an hour ago)? They're going to have to go back into darkness here in half an hour again since my boyfriend is coming here this weekend and he's not aware of my grow nor was he exactly open to the concept when I fielded it in a general matter.

I appreciate any help y'alls can give me!

yeah that palish color will happen when your plant is in flowering for the first week or two then you will start to get more and more white hairs..

does it kinda look like this??http://boards.cannabis.com/attachmen...n-dscf3648.jpg
because thats perfectly normal... just try to minimize the stress. especially the lighting whilst in flowering..

it could be a mild nute deficiency, as new growth can often be the first indicator of that. just keep an eye on the rest of your plant(s), and yes, try to minimize stress as much as possible.

Bingo notorious... it does look EXACTLY like the picture you attached. *whew, feel so much better it wasn't the wonky light schedule.

dutch.lover, I had a problem with nute burn when I first started out, didn't bother posting since it is such a common problem, I read. In response to the burn I cut my feeding down from almost every watering to every second/third and the strength from half to quarter the prescribed strangth. I fed them at half strength again yesterday so hopefully that helps too.

BTW: my boyfriend is off home now and the mother is gone too and neither are the wiser.... woot woot! Back to regular 12/12 and praying for females. Thanks for the help, cheerio!
