OK. Here is my setup and details.

*Rubbermaid setup
*Two 42 watt & one 23 watt soft white CFLs
*Temps w/ lights on 82-83F. Lights off 73-75F
*70% black hyponix (sp?) dirt
*30% perlite
*2 gal. pot
*Topped at 3 weeks veg & LSTed. Untied and let her loose last week.

*Has been flowering for 2 weeks
*I have only used fertst TWICE since flowering:
*** 1tsp high P bat guano
*** 1/4 tsp molasses
*** 2Q tap water

Here are some pics of my setup. Kinda looks like Conky from Pee-Wee's Playhouse hehehe. And pics of one of the buds.

My question is, is it too soon for the pistols to start to orange? I know my yeild isn't going to be huge since I am using CFLs, but these are about the size of a penny in diameter. However, there are bud sites all over it and the flowers below are still white. Any suggestions to increase weight? I would add more light, but I'm afraid heat may be an issue. Also, there is NO odor at all. Unless you almost stick a bud up your nose. It smells like plant smell more than anything, with a hint of musty armpits Thanks for any input!

dont worry. your fine. some straings produce brow pistols and then will produce more white. like a cycle. dont worry.

Hahaha I don't even remember what that character looks like, but when I read that shit and saw the pic I busted out laughing. I just pictured it standing up and waving it's duct arms... beeping and steaming. Hahaha shit gave me the giggles.

As for harvesting... just keep an eye on the trichs. Sometimes pistils appear ripe, but are actually just reacting to excessive heat. Do you monitor canopy temps? I've seen pre-flowers have orange pistils on lower branches away from the light though... so it could just be the strain.
Looks good though. I don't think CFL's will ever really pack on those dense buds we all want. Seemingly comparable quality though. Good luck!

Edit: After looking at your pics again... do the lights stay that far away from the canopy? I can't tell but that looks like a foot or more. That's too far for CFL's if you want to maximize the lumen absorption. That will greatly influence your yield potential. Just a thought.

No, the lights are about 2-3 inches away. 4in in some places. I have the pot up on a tupperware bowl to get it closer. It just looks farther away because i had the lid propped to take the pic. Yes, I monitor canopy temp. That temp gauge thing is monitoring temps right at or a couple inches below canopy.
