which strains have you had experience with that grow the least in height from flowering to harvest?

I've read that plants generally double in height from flowering to harvest, but i'm looking for a strain that tends not to double its height. any suggestions?

I have a six foot high ceiling to work with, so what strain would you use, and how high would you veg the plant to? I have a 600w hps light

Use any good indica and switch to 12/12 when the plants are about 2-2.5' tall. Then flower for a good 5-6 weeks or so. They'll get taller for the first two and a half weeks and then it'll stop getting taller and the buds will fill out for the last three and a half weeks.
