1st Closet Grow Log

Hello everyone at Cannabis Forums

So here it is; the beginning of my first closet grow. I still haven't recieved my light kit but I wanted to post photos of what my closet looks like before I prep it for growing.

The closet space that I will be using originally used to house the central heating and air and there is a huge hole in the door with an air vent grate covering it.
Maybe I could use this to my advantage?

Inside the closet there is electrical boxes that are for plugs on the other side of the wall. Should I cover these up and seal them with silicone so moisture doesn't cause any damage?

There is a hole in my closet wall from my bedroom closet doorknob. I was thinking that maybe I could keep my ballast on the other side of the wall (so it doesn't get damaged by moisture as well), run the cord from the ballast through the hole to the light inside my closet.

Also the rectangular hole in the ceiling is from something to do with the old heating and air.
Could I use that hole to vent the hot air from my 400 watt lamp?

A fan sucking hot air out the top of the closet and drawing cool fresh air though the vent in the door, should work great...

Thanks DutchPimp

But what about the complete darkness my plants are supposed to have for the 12/12 cycle? Is there any way to avoid having light leaks when the fan in the door is installed?
