Hey great log kd. Keep it up!
 I agree that a lot of street weed in TO sucks, but the street meat is great. I'm also more a fan of sativas and not couch-lock highs (usually, NL is one of my fav. strains though). After moving to BC I've never once seen that really wet, dark, bright-orange haired pot you find in Ontario that just makes your head buzz and will give you the spins every time if you're even slightly drunk. I hate that shit. I also want to stop smoking so much, and recently had a sort of revelation like you had, except instead of clothes or other things I've been thinking why shell out $50 for a QZ when I could pick up $50 worth of grow supplies instead and invest in better, cheaper, more rewarding homegrown. We'll see how that waiting goes though! From 4 QZs saved I could buy one of those expensive Vortex fans I have my eye on. But cutting down on pot is hard because until 1-2 months ago I smoked cigs as well. Old habits... I feel your GFs pain too. After a big meal and while drinking it's hard to not smoke anything. Good luck with your grow and your hiatus / decrease in smoking. Sorry for rambling so much in your log dude. Heh I just came here to find some info in another thread but I always end up reading a lot more.

Yeah, your thread is great. I want to start growing some just for my own consumption... Where do you get you good seeds? I know that your first trial grow was with bagged, (which is what I'll do) but where do you get you good seeds?

I wouldn't recommend moving here just for the pot anyway. Mountains and ocean, now those are some damn good reasons to move out here. It really is such a contrast landing in Vancouver coming from Pearson. Especially in the winter! Anyway you live where you can make money, such is life.

Oh I woudn't be moving there for the Pot it wouyld definitly be for the mountains.
When I was there I climbed two peaks of Grouse Mountain. You started the hike at the ski resort so its not the grouse Grind. I have done that to it was fun but nothing like this. I believe the ones I went up on 2 different days were GOAT and CROWN. One of them is the Big Square shaped rock you can see from the ski resort. When I climed up that I was so scared. We meet a ski resort guide half way who was taking a little break and he advised us not to venture up there cuz the season had no snow so there was alot of bare rock showing. He said no one had been up that way all year, this was in FEB. It showed becasue the signs for the trail were buried. And you could not see any reconizable size path, somtimes the snow was a deep as my mid waste and im 6'5" I trusted the 18 yr old Van city native I was with. he was like right on!! lets get going. I followed and had more fun than any high could ever give me. We were supposed to smoke at the top but I was scared cuz going down it was so steap and it was all bare rock. We had gear Cramp Ons Ice picks all the stuff, We never used any ropes or anything, Which he later told me we should have in certin parts (Roped in was the term he used) but there was no time if we wanted to make the top and back. he didn't want to tell me that untill we were on safer grounds. hahaha little bastard. I rember it was cloudy dark and windy. but I am so glad I kept on going. No High could ever compare to that much Fun. the second picture is from the top of the Crown which was so scary I only stayed up there for like 3mins cuz it was a 500foot drop on the other side, and it was all snow so we couldn't see where the rock edge ended and it was about a 5 x 5 foot pad to stand on. kd

That sounds like a shitload of fun kd! Great photos too man. I still haven't seen a lot of BC, so I'll have to put Grouse mountain on the list of things to see here.
I hiked up to the Flute at Whistler with some friends, just about 20 mins past the highest lift. We smoked a blunt and snowboarded down. But what you said is true, you don't need to be high on pot when you're doing something awesome like that anyway because you're buzzin on the good times! I didn't smoke the first time I went up a couple days before that because I was falling down the mountain still. Yeah, I've only been here a few years but it's easy to call BC home. (ha ha, you can tell i'm a geek from that first pic eh?!)

Yeah when you do go up to Grouse, If you stand just out side the Chalet looking at the Ice skateing rink look up to you left at the highest peak, you will see a big square shaped rock. I believe that point is called Crown. thats where the picture is from. I believe Grouse has a decent snowboard park as well.

Hello All...
After a long weeknd with the flu. I was able to get some pictures. They all look nice. Im not really sure what to do with the Re-Vegging plant. I could try and flower it but I don't know what will happen perhaps I will get a "BALL-O-BUD" or it wil be just hard to manage as there is no real stalk just node after node. still thinking about that one... The flowering plants are One day shy of four weeks in flower. I also picked up some good stuff called Synergy made by BIO-GENSIS. Its supposed to help my plants take in food better and add vigor and growth to them. Looks like pretty good stuff. Gave some to them yesterday we will see if anything is better or worse in the upcomming weeks. Its an All organic product with the OMRI label and all. hope no one else has the flu I gotz its terrible. kd

I was in the box working around and took some pictures.
the buds are loooking nice, Getting pretty crystally. I am having a hard time finding a magnifying glass. I can find ones that are like 5x but I understand I would want atleast a 10X veiw. Regardless they look nice Ill be honest though they don't smell that great. It almost smells like a barn. But I did touch a bud by acident and my finger after stank like fresh sticky icky... The Revegged plant is looking nice too I think im gonna take a clone from it in a few days then flower it. I hope the seedlings make it through the process. hahahah kd

This weekend I actully had some time to do things.
I took two clones from the re vegged plant. Then I decided to cram it into the top of the box to flower. It has alot of shoots and two seedlings in the 3 gallon pot. This is gonna be pretty interesting. The sad looking clones pictured with the two new clones have just started to show roots comming out the bottom of the rockwell not on all of them though. I plan to get those in soil when all show their roots. Hopefully they will come back and be able to be mom plants. As well as the newly clipped clones. the top of the cab is pretty crammed with that 3 gallon pail. It will be interesting to see how much it stretches and how much less light the other plants which have about 3 weeks left will be able to use with their new rommie. kd

3 days from 6 weeks flowering.............
They are looking good. A little burnt from heat or nutes. nothing that looks too major though. I had a question This strain is supposed to flower for seven to nine weeks. Im comming on week six should I be starting to only feed with plain water? Is there a certin stage identifiable in the plants life that I should start to feed with plain water? I need to get a magnifying glass but im having trouble finding one higher than 5X which I think wouldn't be strong enough. The trichcombs seem to be turning solid white. Everyday I am able to see more and more trichcs. I have yet to see any ambre with my naked eye. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks kindly kd

Nice kdspecial, what a great example of T5 lights at work (with gardening skills of course
 ). Sweet looking buds. Someone in another forum was asking about T5 grows...I'm gonna point them over here.

That looks great kd!
I picked up a 30x magnifier for $10 yesterday (Circuit City). It has a little 8x magnifier on it as well and I was surprised at how much bigger 8x is. If you can get more than 10x though I say go for it. When did your clones stems turn purple like that? I have some that are doing that and I have no idea why. They look ok other than that so I'm just ignoring it for now, but it is spreading through the entire stalk. -canuck

Yeha basically when I cut them they turn colour. My plants show these signs somtimes as well. I have yet to figure out exactly what the cause is. Im guessing its somthing that the ProMix does not have in it. Like a Micronutrient. Or improper nuterient balance.
the problem is there are so many possible things that could cause red stems and Veins on the stalk. Cold weather, Strain, miconutrient, Ph lockout.. It goes on and on. basically I was losing my mind over it and I just said fuk it. The plants look healthy. besides that. I figure when I start mixing some compost with my pro Mix I will have less red in the stems and veins. It can even go back to seeds. The grow shop fellow I have become decent friends with basically said to me. What do you want plants naturally will change colours depending on thier food / enviroment / and strain. Dont sweat it so much. As you grow as a grower you will learn more and you will see less RED... Im planting some new seeds, tonight I will apply my knowledge and see if they still go purpal. I bet they dont go as purpal/. thanks for stopping by kd

I ahve ordered a 30X jewlers eye piece. I hope this arrives in time for me to be able to harvest at the perfect time. As of tommrow it will be 6 weeks flowering, of a strain that says it takes 7 to 9 weeks to finish. I think I will be feeding just Phd water from now on in.
TO be honest my plants may look nice but they smell like ass. They smell very similar to my BIO-GENSIS Organic solutions. So just to be certin I don't actully flush my plants do I (3 to 1 ratio of water)? I just water them for the next week or two with plain water and allow 10% run off correct? I hope they start to smell nicer when I satrt the plain water feedings. If not ohh well they loko like they will be nice.. kd

Still Rolling here.......
Starting some new things in the bottom of the Cab... Got one healthy clone that stuck through, Took one clone from the Seeding plant. Then I took the ReVegged plant and stuck it back in flower. The revegged seeding plant has been in flowering for one full week, and its stretching like crazy cuz it far from the light. It will have to wait untill my bigger plants finish. I also started some seeds from a Fellow Grower from these boards, as well as my own. BlueJay x BoggleGum Enjoy the pics,.., kd

Ok So its one day before 7 weeks. I am pretty dang excited. The Nuggles are looking Snuggles....
My Revegged plant has been nicly Tied Down to have 8 even Tops. As well the Two seeds that fell of the ReVegged plant turned into Females. the seedlings are my BlueJay X BoggleGum So looks like I will be able to get to try some bud from the original female and my cross. Im pretty pumped how that worked out. In the bottom of the cab I have some seedlings going and A SumerTIme Budda Clone (The one with the Indica Phenotype) and a BlueJay Clone taken from the ReVegged plant before it was put into flowering. SO everything is looking good so far, I am confidantly becoming a Gardner. the real test will be this summer when I try and grow vegtables and such on my balcony. Im excited for that Its a new growing experince diffrent plants diffrent nature... Ohh Thought I'd menton a new commer to my aprtment. Her name is Emma. A small toy style dog that my Gf insisted we have. SO thats 2 cats and a toy dog in a small aprtment. I am one step away from being a Crazy Cat Lady!!!  She is a good dog though so so far its not too bad. Shes small my cats still dominate... Thats all I care about.. Thanks for stopping by.... Don't be afarid to say hello or comment.
