New Mini-Grow Area
The 2'X4' 4 lamp T5 HO fixture just arrived (20,000 Lumens) This will be mounted horizontally on the wall.
A 2 lamp T-8 fixture with high reflective surface. (6,000 Lumens) This is the ceiling lamp, mounted slightly off center.
a 250 watt HPS (ballastless, 29,000 Lumens) also mounted centered on the other side of the ceiling.
The front and side walls are mylar. Ventilation is via tower fan.
The area is four feet across, four feet high and 16" Deep. I plan to bring 2 plants through budding. Not sure about cutting and/or cloning, depending on time schedules.

dude thats nice and all but you need to get those things out of there, like now.. they all need to have individual pots otherwise they arent going anywhere, do you realize how big these plants get, and thats 50.. if you were going to use that id say put two at the opposit ends, but you need to get those things out of there before there roots (prob too late) get into each other.. if not be prepared to lose all of em except maybe like 3 if your lucky..
looks nice though, individual pots though man.. cant believe no one else has said anything

Thanks, but yes I do know how to separate them. I have an abundance of seed so I start hundred+. I"ve halved them three times already. I have two 6 gal pails in which I will put three each (probably today or tomorrow. I just prepared the soil mix yesterday). In 3-6 weeks I'll put them into 12-12 and will eventually (hopefully) have one female plant in each pail.
The buds in the photo were grown from these trays too, actually I got over a dozen sucessful plants last grow. Actually, there are grow pics of the last pail plant. The others went "outdoors".
Thanks,

So, Any more comments, folks?
So, any more comments?
BTW, I decided early on not to use the HPS for the veg cycle. It seems to be doing ok without it and the temp is 74-80ºf. I will have to get more ventilation when I start bloom cycle and turn on the HPS.

Seeds planted three weeks ago today
Bubblegum 3 weeks.
The plan is to veg through the eighth week, Dec 30th.
I will remove two plants from each bucket this week.
Also, I'll likely crop at some point in early-mid Dec.

Here are the "stand-bys". They are doing fine for being cramped in that box and growing on the floor, in the shade of the buckets.

I'm down to 2 each in a bucket, the other four were transplanted into pots.
I've almost always startedin "window boxes" rather than lots of little peat pots or whatever. Less work but no bad effects on the plants, really. Of course, at this point you could not separate each plant. But, you could get a few nice plants out of the mess. lol
Same with the buckets, I always start with four, remove two of the slower plants (or plants showing male tendancies). End up with one or two females in a 5 or 6 gal bucket.

your still going to run into problems with the 2 in each. Im still confused why u germinated 100+ seeds thats like giving birth to 100 kids and offing them one by one until your satisfied. and u kept 8? Yeah well in a bucket is that a 5 gal? they have plenty of room for one, but ive seen a plant take up the entire bucket in a hydro grow. Might want to rethink doing 2 in 1. by now there root systems are probably already tangled

thanks, Jack
reason for germinating all them seeds? They are getting old and want to give it their best. <G> Seriously, I have a bag of great seed and no one I know what's to hassle with growing pot. So, I sprout a shitload of seed and go forward with the best specimens.
2 plants in a pot....
I have done it this way for years on my indooor/outdoor grows. Maybe it's not the best. I do have some nice single plants in pots also.
We'll see how everything goes. I'm hear to learn and share. : ]

instead of pulling them out and risking damage to the other plants, just cut the shit ones off at the base with some scissors and the roots they leave will be good for the other plants

Imolation sez..."Hey Shovel, Have you tried Bubble Gum before? Let us know how it smokes?"
I've been growing it for a few years. It grows well and smokes nice. It had been grown commercially around here for 10 years or so It is very popular around here still.
xxpyrOxx asks if the plants push each other over.
Yes, they can. If I end up with two females in a bucket then I'll probably move one. And as far as disturbing plants/roots, I've been growing and gardening for a while and transplanting isn't that difficult or harmful to the plant, if you do it right. Actually, cutting the lateral roots with the spade can stimulate root growth and plant health. So, either I can thin them like ADream suggests, by cutting the plant at the soil line or spade around the plant, pull it out and replace the soil.

week 5
5wks.JPG
I just cut off the tops of the two tall plants.
In the windowbox there were over 40 plants. Here I removed all but 10 without any damage to the remainers. They are on 12-12 and lst. Hopefully I'll determine sex and grow 2.
