hi ive seen so many green dragon threads and so many use different amounts but what ive seen is generally .75g-2g per shot of alcohol. my questions are as follows
1. will 1g to each shot work, i intend to use the cold method.
2. how long is best to leave it in the jar giving it an am and a pm shake?
3. i plan to use a total of maybe 2-3 grams of bud with 3 shots can i also throw in 2 grams of stems for good measure and should i use another shot for the stems or just add them to the 3 shots ?
4. once its made is 1-2ml really a good dose? (i know its different for everyone but what is considered normal)
5. using the cold method starting with 3 shots(4.5 oz) how much tinture should i hope to end with will i have 4.5oz or how much should i expect to evap?

everyone but what is considered normal) The dose will depend on the concentration, and most importantly the quality of the weed you start with.

The higher the alcohol to pot ratio, the weaker the finished product will be in concentration, this will require more liquid consumed to equal the same levels of thc consumed that say 2grams per ounce would result in. Making sense?
However it wouldn't be that much more liquid.

There are many thoughts on this subject, people make ISO hash in a matter of hours but usually claim they can get more than one wash from the same bud. To me that means letting it sit at least a month and shaking on occasion. But I was a lot more aggressive with the shaking my first time

3. i plan to use a total of maybe 2-3 grams of bud with 3 shots can i also throw in 2 grams of stems for good measure and should i use another shot for the stems or just add them to the 3 shots ? 4.5 ounces of alcohol should be fine for the weed and the stems, you won't have appreciable evaporation as long as you keep the container sealed. If you would like to strenghen your concentration after letting everything soak an appropriate amount of time, simply leave the cap/lid off for a few day and the some of the alcohol will evaporate.

Suggestion- Find a health Food store that sells empty tincture bottles in the two ounce size. Buy 2. (About $2 each and they have a built in eyedropper)
Mix your weed and stems together, split in half and put 1/2 in each bottle. Then fill with alcohol. Store both in a dark place, back of closet, kitchen cabinet, etc.
Shake one every day, and let the other just sit there, or maybe shake it once in a while. I would wait at least 2+ weeks before trying the bottle that you are shaking everyday and let the other one sit until you are done with the first bottle. Then you will have some idea about which process works best for you.
Warning- you are consuming thc in a very concentrated forma nd tolerance builds quickly. I took a bottle of killer tincture with me camping this summer as an end of season blow out. The first night was a spiritual dose. The second night I took almost twice as much, got wrecked but lacked alot of the cosmic sensations of the first night, and the third night I finished the bottle, got a massive body stone, but it didn't take me mentally to where I wanted to be.
It is best to use every 5-7 days or in small quantities more often as a supplement to smoking. I simply leave the weed in the bottle so that it keeps soaking, who knows ya might get a little more out of it and worst case a little weed gets stuck between your teeth. When the liquid is gone I shake the weed into a cup of yogurt or a scoop of ice cream and consume. Don't clean the bottle, just add new weed and alcohol and let that wash off any residual tincture stuck to the sides.

Ideally I think if you started a new bottle once a month with about 2 grams in a 2 ounce bottle you could probably have a continuous supply of green dragon. If you don't finish a bottle by the end of a month add more weed and booze and start a new batch.
