Anyone else get the feeling that we may witness the collapse of the American Empire in our lifetime? The Soviet Union collapsed, why can't America? During the last civil war we witnessed two competing economic systems in one U.S.A.: slavery and capitalism. When that hybrid economy broke down, the union ended (at least temporarily).

Now we're witnessing a hybrid Marxist/capitalist bohemoth on wall street run amok with the U.S. economy. Meanwhile China quietly holds a quarter of our foreign debt and enjoys a huge trade surplus with the U.S. as U.S. demand provides markets for Chinese manufactures. Wall street corporations then outsource American manufacturing and american jobs to cheap for cheap Chinese labor and wall street banks pour investment reserves offshores into foreign investment.

And when this system of gradually dismantling the U.S. industrial base ends up having real world consequences last year, what does the government do? It pours trillions into the same banks that caused this mess without doing anything to regulate where our tax dollars are going!

Now that these banks have paid back the loans, they are once again free to cause the same sort of disasterous lending strategies unabaided! This is no way to run a political economy, its bad marxism, its bad capitalism. We're all screwed!

Yes we are screwed and headed for civil unrest.

It is all within the plans of the fucking N.W.O. They are crashing the U.S. dollar in order to give birth to the Amero.

ozyman, we will have another civil war in this country. i was predicting before the end of my lifetime (i'm 30), but i'm starting to think that it will be A LOT sooner than that! no civilization has lasted forever, why would we?

It's up to us folks, as a unified whole, as individuals. If things do collapse ( and they have to eventually ), people will get crazy, and other's will stick together and take care of each other. It will be interesting to see what comes of this. I feel like the potential for mass anarchy exists, but so does something much more beneficial and real in the end. Getting to that end will require a lot of ugliness, but so be it. The world will turn as it turns, I will do my part to make it good for those I can.

I don't think were at the point of no return. I think America can be salvaged but it is going to take an enormous effort and sacrifice on the part of the people that actually work for a lving. Its actually a simple concept but will require enormous sacrifice and thats to just get back to the constitution. The origiinal constitution written by our forefathers had everything in it that our country required. There is nothing that needed to be added or taken away. No patriot would ever have considered changing it.
If we can just allow the states to run there states the way they want without federal intrusion and as long as no state passes a law that violates the US constitution then our society could continue for many more centuries.

Good post Killer, I am curious what you think the sacrifice will be. As far as I can tell the sacrifice will mostly be in foregoing a consumer oriented lifestyle in favor of something more sustainable, and something with less fences and walls between us, physically, and emotionally. What are your thoughts?
