yeah, now if only the feds will get off their asses and do something good for this country! there is not one good reason that we should be importing ALL of the hemp that we use in this country. wtf?

Thumbs up In addition to the fiber uses.....

The flowering tops of hemp are rich in CBD. CBD will not get you high, merely "mellow" at most, BUT it has a mess of medical uses- ALS, gliomas, heart attacks and more. Take a peek at "Cannabidiol/CBD" in my list- there's a pretty impressive array of ailments that can be treated by this non-psychoactive cannabinoid. With the eventual legalization of fiber hemp, CBD rich strains will become available. There's more to cannabis than just THC!

There is no place like Cali. The Feds can say what ever they want, the Supreme Court has ruled in California's favor.

when did the court rule in favor of california? didn't they simply refuse to hear the case filed by san diego and san bernadino counties? this is far from ruling.

by the way, federal law supercedes state law.

"Authorizes the production of industrial hemp, which is used to make cloth, paper, cooking oil, fuel and other products. U.S. drug laws treat industrial hemp like marijuana, which bears a similar appearance. Sen. Floyd Prozanski, D-Eugene, predicted the new law positions Oregon farmers to get a head start on growing hemp as soon as the federal ban on hemp cultivation is lifted."

That's from the article.
So if this is right then i can start growing hemp to use here at my home and only have to worry about the feds having a problem with it. I don't think they'd have an issue with me growing a small field of hemp for personal use. They'd never notice.
I need to look into this further.

Looks like I will have to change my acreage into hemp for next year, looks like I logged my lumber just in time, before the lumber market drops off after people notice how much more effective hemp is almost every application current lumber is used for.

Guess most of my current internet research will turn from marijuana cultivation to hemp cultivation.

This is a very exciting time to live in free thinking Oregon. I don't even know of current equipment, fertilization rates, soil conditions, irrigation techniques.... pretty much nothing about industrial hemp. Very eager to start this new learning experience, and possibly new career change, and hopefully finding my niche in this new industry.

Wish the new farmers of Oregon luck.
