I haven't smoked since sometime in late August. I'm not sure of the exact day, but as an estimate, probably August 25th. Prior to that I smoked 3 times a day for about 5 days, and then before that I had been clean for a good 2-3 weeks. Anyway, that date puts me at about 78 days of having not smoked. I have also had a haircut since then.

Now, I've done a bit of reading, and it seems that the general consensus is that the maximum is about 90 days. Assuming that is true, if I am tested within the next few days I am thinking I will most likely pass due to not having heavily smoked weed for over 4 months.

My question is this: what are the chances of me failing? I am planning on getting another haircut before the test, if that makes any difference. I'm not planning on using any detox shampoo or bleaching my hair or anything.

Also, how short can I cut my hair without them saying it is too short?

Anyone? After more reading I've realized that if they were to test 1 1/2" of my hair I would most likely test positive, so I'm assuming that I should get my hair cut down to 1" to ensure that I can pass.

One more question: Does a faster rate of hair growth create any deviations in the 1 1/2 " = 90 days time-frame?

With your hair only 1 inch it could force a under-experienced tester to ask for hair in other places. If you cut down to 1 inch, do it as soon as possible because you will need all the growth you can get. 1.5 inch is what they test no matter how long your hair is...to the best of my knowledge.

Also remember they can take hair from a couple places on your head if they feel your hair is cut too short. Good luck...

You could use a bleach and dye method. Google...jerry g and hair drug tests.

Yeah, I read about Jerry G's method. Unfortunately that isn't really feasible for me at the moment.

His post did make me think of another question though: How common are armpit tests as opposed to hair from the head? Like, I mean they go right for the armpit regardless of your head's hair length.

No, Body hair is only used when head hair is to short. You can also google...mac method

Alright, thanks. I just wasn't sure, as a few of the posts on that forum seem to indicate that they knew they were going to have a sample taken from the armpit, but I suppose that was because they had short hair.

A couple of weeks ago when I went through hair test, there were guys with buzzed heads. The lab shaved leg hair off of them and sent that in for the sample.
