Hey gals and gals, first of all, excellent site, thank you very much for the awesome information.

I attempted the substitution method yesterday because i was being prescreened for a job and most definitely showing positive on my home tests. Unfortunately, I live in Wisconsin...with 2 feet of snow on the ground. Suffice to say, the minute and thirty seconds it took me to walk from my job to the drug test facility (literally across the block), my sample had dropped from 99 degrees (i heated it up in the microwave, strapped to my leg with the heater right next to it ).....to just barely under 90 degrees.

I was going to be retested but I called my boss and lied that I had to leave right then, and he was ok with it. So now I am getting a retest monday.

I have already tested the dilution method, and showed up negative (thank the holy god) on the home test. Here are my questions to you guys: 1. am i totally fucked that i have perfect urine in one test and diluted the next? will they cause a stink that they are going to have different levels of shit?

2. I'm assuming i'm going to be observed. is this true?

3.are there any *actual* repercussions alone of just failing the first test by temperature? ie, will that result alone put me on some "red flag" status? will they send my diluted pee to the lab EVEN IF it says negative to their stuff?

4.if i show up negative on the home test, do i have anything to worry about for the pre-lab test?

Next time I would suggest being better prepared. I practiced several times using heating pads, the type used to warm your hands during outdoor sporting events or the like. Its takes two strapped on my piss bag, then place on my inner thigh and then wrapped up in a Ace bandage. This keeps my piss at 99 to 101 degrees for three hours. I take a little digital temp probe and cool it down if I have to. You can always cool it down, but heating it up is impossible. And I just blow on it and swish it around in the cup if the temp is on the high end.

As to whether you will be observed, I am no expert. But I believe they are allowed to observe on the second test in your case. Whether they will or not I have no ideal. But they can.

If you are going to dilute, eat plenty of red meat to raise your creatine (sp?) and drink some soda or coffee to give your piss some color prior to giving piss.

Like I said, I am no expert and I highly recommend reading the thread I mentioned earlier.

man...that sucks...is it a busy testing facility? do u think u will have the same person test u?? i would be more worried about them supervising u than anything else...and i would also say that if u just dropped pee they think is fake and now your planning on dilution that it would definitely raise some eyebrows...

if I was YOU i personally would bring fake pee in again in hopes that they dont supervise...but ALSO dilute...

i dont know HOW (no matter how cold it is) your pee dropped 10F in 2 min with a heat source on it..but if thats the case go to the hardware store and buy pocket warmers like what GoGold was talkin about... they are VERY cheap...if u cant find em ask someone at the stor.e..i also know that a lot of hunting and fishing supply stores carry them...buy a few packs.. and use TWO heat pads...one on each side and tape them to the container u are using... the trick here is to make sure the pee isnt TOO hot though...so if u are unsupervised and u drop that pee in and it registers at like 100F ...simply swirl it around in the cup and blow on it gently until its around 98 - 95F (this should only take about 60 seconds)... on dilution id be VERY careful... if i was your boss and i saw that u failed the first test then the 2nd was diluted id definitely be callin u in for a talk

Just a thought.....When handed the specimen jar, it should have a temp gauge on it.

You can breathe on the temp gauge or stick your tongue to the clean surface to raise the temp. if unobserved.
