I know a young man who really needs the discipline and life experience with the military. Yeah, some will say no way, but this is the right thing for this person since where they live is a dead-end for gainful employment and the negative influences that exist are even worse.

So, with that background, what is the procedure for enlistment testing and what product should they use? They plan on abstaining prior to hopefully heading to PI. I remember that the first physical I got was given when I went to take the pre-enlistment testing, etc. That was many many moons ago, before piss testing became the norm as they first thought of piss testing prior to when I got out. Is this when they do the piss test, and what test to they use?

Meps uses a NIDT 50 ng drug test(basically the instant ones that are just like the at home tests). They watch you piss so you cant cheat. I passed mine after 2 weeks being clean but everyones different. Your recruiter will test you before he sends you to meps. They wont send you to fail, they need you to get in. Worst case scenario, you test positive at the recruiting office and he will give you a couple more weeks to get clean.
