    2nd grow

    My plan :

    - germinating using paper towel method, then planting poped beans in party cups to srpout.
    - 4 parts Fox Farm Ocean Forrest to 1 part pearlite for my potting mix.
    - ill be using blue standard incandecents to gro sprout to an inch or 2, then transplanting to my 1 gal pots.
    - Plan on using 1 gal. pots for veg, and 3 gal. for flowering? advice on those sizes would be good?
    - 1 400w MH conv. HPS for veg and flower respectively.
    - 1 bag seed (already popped and under incandecant) + 7 big bud
    - grow space is 4' wide x 2' deep x 8' tall
    - Using Fox Farm Grow big for veg. FF Tiger Bloom along FF with open sesami, beastie bloomz and cha-ching for flowering also maybee some mollasas thru the grow, dont kno too much yet abotu mollassas but i hear its the shiznit.
    - Homeade exaust system, thinking about the intake (nothing yet)
    - Plan on suppercropping half the girls and topping the other half.

I germed the one bagseed b4 my big bud's have come in b/c i have never germ'd and sprouted a plant b4, so that was sort of my test run. I dont have a digi cam right now, but soon plan on getting one so if this grow turns out good i will have many good pics to share with anyone who is interested. Also i would like to get up some pics of my setup to see what all ya think.

Ps if neone has a link to some good DIY intake ideas, i would appreciate the help. Thanks erbody

Ahhh, thank you very much. I will do just that, but im not sure if the seed is still in the dirt, because the ferret got into the cup the other night.... Its cool tho. Hopefully it was a tasty treat for him, if he ate it.

I still have my other 8 seeds germinating right now. 5 Big Bud, 1 unknown, and 2 that i got for free along with the Big Bud. Hopefully they are ready soon so i can get them into the soil

Very productive day in the ambitious world that is my closet. Were to start... ok, well i finished up the ventilation system on my closet today got my homeade light baffles up so there will be no pesky light leaks. Here is the link for the design of my homeade light baffles Ventilation ideas. if neones interested.

I also had to run to Meijer, late night style, to get some rice and a tupperware to store the rest of my genetics. Doesnt really have nething to do with the gro, but i just thought id mention..

Im trying to run my room lights and exhaust system now with a thermometer in it to see if the temps r gonna be ok when the ladies go in. However the chronic shop is closed at 3 i nthe morning so i had to buy a fish tank termometer for now.. Pry wont work since it says dont put under direct light.... oh well, i plan on getting a nice digital thermometer and humididty measure tomarro when the chron store is open, also maybee i will pick up my FoxFarm nutrient tri-pak.

    Talk to yall later..

Ok its Friday morning, and i dont have class, im gonna garden. I juyst got back from the chron store where i purchased a therm/humidity gauge that records highs and lows, so i can finallly see where my temps sit with the lights on.

So i got back to my house and put in the therm. in my closet. All closet lights and fans GO, quickly seal the hatches and switch systems to stealth mode. LOL, sometimes i cant help myself, im still a kid at heart with a hobby. So after about an hour of all systems go in the closet temps look to be around 78-79, not too bad. Humidity is around 35%, this i am kind of worried about, should i be looking for something in the 40-50% range??

Lets see what else is new in my closet?? oh yea i transfered my germ'd seeds into party cupps with a 1:3 of ocean forrest to perlite. Out of the 8 seeds i had cook'n in the oven (paper towel method, i would never bake a seed in an oven, what do u think im mad) 7 pop'd. All 5 of my big buds popped, alond with a bad seed i planted. I also got an unmarked bag of 10 seeds when i ordered my BIG BUD, which of the 10 i germ'd 2 and 1 has popped. I will probably leave his brother in the "OVEN" for a couple more days b4 i burry him in the garbage cemetary.

Love Peace and Chiken Greace, CWesto

Cool iriebowl, ill keep that in mind. I'm stilll looking for some way to get my temps down about 5-10F degrees and my humidity up by about 15%. I would just feel much better sleeping if i knew my babies were sleeping in as comfortable an enviornment as i am.

Use clear plastic cups next time. You can see how the roots are doing.

Well the last seed that i was trying to germinate is a dud, i believe. Im gonna let him stay for another day or 2 then he is getting the preverbial "Boot." If he gets the boot il germ another seed from the mystery bag from Netherlands.

Heres a pic of the nutes ill be using thru my gro. I was thinking about adding some molassas when flowering rolls around, not sure yet tho, I already have a pretty packed line-up when it comes to the nutes.

And, yes that is Donnie, the turtles and KC Jones whoop'n up on the footsoldier in the background. TURTLE POWER!!!

    2 Days

It is about the end of the day, my day. I managed to get my ballast out of my cab, i am hoping that this will help lower my daytime temp's from 80-85 to about 75-80. I however cannot turn on my HPS and see what the temps are because my sprouts are obviously occupying the area.

Looking good so far. This is the stage that many of us will tend to love our seedlings to death by overwatering. I let mine get really dry before watering. allowing it to dry out encourages the roots to grow more to search for moisture.

Its funny u say that, i was just looking at the soil starting to dry about 2 minutes ago. But, yes ive heard about roots going deeper in search of moisture, hopefully i can reserve myself from watering until it is really needed.

Yea, ive never heard anyone say anything against it, but it just doesnt sound like a good idea to me. Roots are naturally in the dark their whole lives anyway.

Good so far, i think. I got em about 3-4" under my 2 CFL's. Temps are around 65-70 with the CFL's on 24hrs, they will probably go up closer to 80-85 when i put the 400w on it. I plan on having them under CFL's for about 1 to 1&1/2 weeks until breaking out the MH on them.

PS. rnichilo, i saw URBANGROWER on ur sig., Hell Yea.
