Times are changing; not fully changed yet, but in some kinda transition as the cooler young ppl of the 60's/70's become older and assume more of the roles of power in society. As this happens, the newer ideals/values will continue to become more of the accepted norms. Also, lets face it, altho some older generations still embrace the lunacy, the entire "Reefer Madness" movement has been fairly well debunked as having been based mainly in gov't orchestrated, media-exaggerated hysteria.
ummm, yeah, ok, but no, not really.
K is male and g-o-n-e.
this experiment is officially ON HOLD until i can get another female.![]()

All 3 became males??? That sux really bad....but don't give up Rock...this "porta-scrog" is real interesting.....![]()
hey Zeb
well, im thinkin and reading up at WH's direction.
there has to be a logical explanation for this.
i really, really didnt do anything to these reds other than top once and that 1 that i put the cage on.
i did much more crap to the 3 previous and 1 current plants and this male crap didnt happen, even if they did grow slow and small.
im starting to re-evaluate my veg box and meathod.
its gotta be something wrong in the veg box.
i eliminated 2 of the weaker 6 last week.
that leaves four in veg. (3 Blue Russians and 1 which is either a Blueberry or MangoKush)
they are in week 3 of veg and i'm starting to think they may be moving slow also.
but, im gonna give them space n let em do whatever they do.
i would like to start thinkin about a Mother.
i also have some special fem beans but want to b sure i know what im doing b4 i screw them up.
i'm gonna watch the current veg closely and see what happens, at least i have Galina. i'll snap a pic for her thread.![]()

Hey Rock....please at least try to transplant 1 of the BR in a 1/2 or 1 gal pot and water it every second day...1 watering whit nutes one whit clean water...0.1 -0.2 gal water / watering....
please try it !!! and no lst, pruning, topping...
Zeb
i already moved them into the 3 gal pots 2 weeks ago.
whats more is they have stayed pretty wet since.
i have not needed to water even once.
this is one of the things i been thinkin may be an issue.
for some reason it takes forever for the soil to dry out in veg, sometimes it takes a month.
its always been like this, i just havent said anything about it.
i am actually thinking about winding an aeration hose down into the soil on the next big pot i use for a sprout or clone.
i've been experimenting with perforated air pump hose and what size holes may work best.
so far it looks like maybe pinholes every 1/4 - 1/2 inch for about a foot.
my idea is to bury that in the soil coiled in the pot to pump air into the soil.
the thing that keeps scratchin the back of my brain is that i seem to have ideas which mutate my meathods towards hydro in some respects.
i actually have started reading up quite a bit on hydro lately.
if i cant get better yeilds, this entire endevour is a waste of time and money.
here are pics of the veg bunker.
i gotta run, be back in a day or 2.

I like the idea of hydro for you.....if you can get a setup that makes it easy to move your water around. I think you would like it better as well.
You make an excellent point about the drainage.....I think that may well be part of your problem. It ALWAYS was for me and definitely affected the growth in my soil plants.
What soil are you using?

i drilled a few extra holes in the bottom of my pots, lined it with 3 in of river rocks, and with the fox farm, i get good drainage...sinkholes sometimes in the beginning, think its from the fox farm being so airy...where you using rocks at the bottom of the pots?

ok, im back.
answers for both of u.
i already drill extra holes.
my soil is a mix of MG, plain potting, and perlite.
i get excellent drainage, but, like i said, it takes forever for the soil to dry out during veg.
as to hydro, grrrrrrrr, it just goes so against my grain,(not to mention can be dangerous up on the second floor) but, ive been looking at that sticky'd thread, the dudes doing a combo of drip and bubbler. i kinda dig the concept, but havent read to the end yet.
i dont have a clue what nutes or any of the tech specs that would be good for me.
WH, i was planning on emailing u backchannel if/when im ready to explore more of the details in depth. u been there 4 me since the beginning and i dont forget a friend.
btw- i been away and will finish ur kit soon.
