You should see them now.

I'm going to visit them today but when last I saw them, they had been without water in 100'F heat for a couple days. I drenched them, killed the lights, hung a 13w CFL desk lamp in my mother room and killed 1400w of the total 2400 in flower. I expect to have lost genetics in this heat wave. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but the current crop is not salveageable... 2400w worth of plants, most within 2 weeks of harvest, to be processed into cannabutter. And there is an infestation of the winged instar of carpenter ants that is going to require an exterminator to combat. So everything is getting chopped, and I'm salvaging as many of the mothers as I can, but I don't have high hopes.

It's like the End of Days, all going on in my grow spot. All we need is a couple guys on funny-colored horses to come trotting up and announce the Apocalypse, and I'll be ready to throw in the towel.

Well I call the Camo horse! other colors are up to you. ahahaha sorry a bit stoned right now. So if i am correct your making your salvageable mothers into cannabutter!? man oh man. ill trade 2 tablespoons of cannabutter for LR2 seeds. ahahaha. but as far as the ants.. i know you have a magnifine glass some were. :P

Lol- these ants are SO BIG- like 3/4" long- and they have chompers like I've never seen on an ant before. They HURT when they get mad that you are trying to brush them off your skin, clothes, hair...

I like the camo horse idea.

I'm saving the moms that are still alive and stashing them somewhere safe for the summer, and turning all the incompletely-flowered stuff into butter, and ultimately, caramels.

Lol if we allowed seed swaps I'd be all over that one! I'm intrigued by autoflowering. But not enough to pay $$ for seeds, lol! Plus I don't have anywhere to grow them

Bummer all around.

Its my frist autoflower! but yes the camo horse idea is badass. running through a feild of mothers would be the shit... and the best part no one would see you! but caramels.. Read and learn! They are much softer and chewier than commercial caramels; they're made with an old-school recipe that uses a LOT of butter. Thank you PharmaPharmer for the recipe.

I think that horseback would be a pretty awesome way to guerrilla grow. Or maybe I need a pack mule?

I will find out tonight what the loss came to. I just talked to an expert who assures me that unless they were killed down to below the first node, it IS possible to recover them as if they are revegging harvested stumps. I know my harvest is toast though. Good enough for personal use, but aesthetically akin to the dented apples they sell to cider mills for short bucks. I won't want my friends to see the buds, lol... here! HAve a joint! No, there's no buds around, I rolled these 50 joints before you came over.

lol Yeah it's been an adventure from day one. If it's not an angry ex with an emotional problem kicking down my door, it's heat, or cold, or floods, or shitty well water, or any of a HOST of other scourges.
What do we learn from all this? Plan to fail. Plan to fall down, hard. Practice getting back up.
Make every new grow space immune to the problems that you faced in the last one.
Eliminate factors you can't control.
Don't count the chickens before they hatch.
Always have another option; a safe spot to store valuable genetics should the need arise.
Back up your shit.
Put money aside for emergencies- a portable a/c STARTS at $300 for the no-name one, as I just found out. A good can fan will run you $200. First/Last/Security will hit ya for $2k and up, depending on where you live. And your time isn't free, either.
But most of all, don't give up out of frustration.

Stink I remember I think it may even be in the beginning of this thread. The 5 days darkness. Before you put the plant outside can send it into Immediate flower? Maybe I just misunderstood or I have a Gorilla Experiment that's going to happen....

With the whole soil I think I will go with the PRO MIX and but a few bags of FF Worm Casting or Oceanic but not to much to the Mix....

I know what you are saying about not counting your eggs before they hatch. I feel like the guy in my AVATAR W/ all the probems going around. Yield what is that if the grow does not finish well I hope god blesses us all this time around....

You can put it in the dark for 4 days, and if the day length outside is already short enough (that's why Aug 1st is a good date), yup! It will flower right away.

The expert taught me. He is one of the most generous people who I have ever been lucky to count among my friends. He's the one who walked me through my learning curve when it was on the ugly side, lol! You got a question, name the topic- Plants of virtually ANY species? No prob! Electronics issues? Wanna retrofit an antenna to your laptop to steal wireless from an office building 3 blocks away? Sure, I'll bring the soldering iron. Need the name of a song by some obscure 80's punk band? Right on it. Why is Dick Cheney the Antichrist? Let me tell you a campaign funding story... And on it goes.

If you add worm castings, add some extra perlite- worm poop holds water like a mofo and will really change the feel of your soil. For every gallon of worm castings you add, also add a big scoop (maybe a quart?) of perlite.

You know I try to tell my husband alot of this and her just doesn't get it. I swear it's so much harder to grow when your other half doesn't get it or thinks you should be able to forecast your harvest amount 2 months from now. lol.
Personally right now I sell my good tops and smoke the shitty seedy bottoms myself, every one says I have it backwards, but I'm embarrassed to have my shitty stuff seen, or need to explain why the cost is cut.
Oh yeah I need to fill you all in on the Fuck Face and Hermie situation. I need to start a grow log.....
