Hey well as for the documentation, that's the main point. I'm glad SOMEONE appreciates it...

On the record:

I'm a little miffed at one of the people who gave 'thumbs down' on this thread after all the work I'm putting into making it clear and educational... give me a bad 'review', at least have the courage to say it to my FACE. This site is about learning and criticism should be CONSTRUCTIVE, not negativity for its own sake. I'm sorry that the relationships forum doesn't exist any more... but there's gotta be a better home for ya than my damn grow log.

Anyway, back to the show. Here's the new Vermont kids in their new homes. You can't see them yet... they haven't emerged in this pic, but it shows my seedling starting setup. The soil appears very wet because I've just given the seedling mix a heavy watering before letting it rest an hour or so, poking holes, and placing the seeds in it. That mix is appropriate for seedlings, as it is very fine textured and free of added fertilizer.

hey stinky when putting your clones outside are you gonna leave them in pots or put them directly into the ground and are you gonna use the promix outside too and if so, how much bat guano do you think you will add? this is gonna be a very informaive grow log for me as i will try to copy you as best i can. lol

I'm actually still thinking about some of those things myself.

The plan right now is to use compost and vermiculite dug into the ground where I intend to plant, and add a bit of bat guano while I'm at it. I'll put the plants directly in the ground, and if they are in jiffy pots, I'll get the pots good and wet and poke them full of holes first.

I PROMISE there are better outdoor growers to copy than myself; this is my first serious outdoor attempt... lol! I know how to grow good hot peppers though... pot can't be TOO hard!

You DO realize that New England produces among the best weed in the world, right? We've been spoiled rotten since the time of the early Skunks... then the Chems came along... May I venture to say that NE growers and breeders have always represented us VERY well?

Yes i do, and I'm pleased by it each time i smoke. But i just wanted to say that it gives me a nice feeling inside to see the people working hard to grow marijuana in VT.

Hey stinky nice grow log! I was curious why you chose not to use Advanced nutrients when you stated that it was designed speciffically to be used with promix? I had never heard that before but it makes sense because that's what a friend of mines grows with, promix and sunshine #4 also. And it's some real good shit, both indoor and outdoor. Anyways keep up the good work

Good question on the AN; I had a CRAPLOAD of old fertilizer (Cornucopia, PowerPlant/PowerFlower, and others) laying around, and since I'm not pressed for time here (it IS only March after all), I'm not really going after that super aggressive feeding schedule on these plants...

That being said, I've got other stuff going, and as soon as I can afford to buy the entire 'kit'- which I can get for around $400- I'll be making the switch. I just don't have the cash right now to spend much on my own needs, let alone plant food, lol! Gotta love the price of heating fuel... Thanks, Cheney Cartel!

Give me a month and see where I'm at after my tax return comes back. By then I will be ready to do a proper single-strain SOG in ProMix and actually be able to use the AN line the way it was intended.

Great log so far, Stinky! The two posts detailing your cloning methods should be a sticky all to themselves. Dunno why anyone would give you a thumbs-down on this thread, though. I threw in a thumbs-up a few days ago, and I'm sure there'll be plenty more to come.

Nope, ran out of time last year but this year I've got a more reasonable schedule and will be driving recieving poles for a hoophouse as soon as the ground is soft enough to take them. Did you ever do yours? I remember talking about it. I am personally uncomfortable with the idea of growing in a greenhouse for security reasons but we'll see how I feel about it later in the summer. Just wanted to tell you I have learned so very much from following your logs. I have done the gange for over 35 yrs and have grown outside for 2, now following your inspiration for inside. J-angel, welcome to the boards! It's always good to see the ladies repping hard

I don't have any fresh photos to share since nothing much has happened in the last week except a 7 hour power outage (wind storm) and several shorter ones (who the fuck knows), that kicked my timers back over 12 hours (yes yes I know time to go digi) and a flood that sent a major feeder brook of the local stream right through my flower room, living room, and kicthen. I didn't notice the 2 inches of water on the LR floor until I heard some strange splashing noises and realized the dogs were wrestling IN THE WATER in the other room... then walked around back, opened the woodshed door, and let a WATERFALL pour over the sill and into the house... not much going on really...

Trust me, if I'd had my camera battery charged there would be PLENTY to see.

As it is, I can show you a pic of a pile of wet towels and socks... anyone interested?

As for the rest...
Towels and socks are already on the way to the laundromat- I plan to wash them in the machine right under the sign that says "No Horse Blankets"... lol the amount of dog hair coming off them... I actually feel a little guilty lol.

The deepest indoor water was 2" on top of the carpet and carpet pad, in a 12x20 living room...

But the deepest OUTDOOR was in the attached woodshed, which is sunk into a hillside and built of dry-stone, was enough that firewood was floating around.

Okay update on the plants.

The clones are still rooting, and there is no wilt. I misted the dome once at clipping, once on Wednesday, and once on Saturday. They appear perky and that they will all make it.

Meanwhile, I went through and re-evaluated the numbered mothers. A couple moved up in the standings over the week since clones were taken (= second pinch equivalent). Any that appeared better or worse than their current number indicated got a quick writeup on the back of the number tag of why I thought they were better or worse. This will help choose my final mother, and also choose which plant in the seed patch I will save seeds from.

In one week I will sex the plants. When all the clones have rooted and proven that they will survive outside the dome, I will put the mothers into flower.

Why flower the mothers, not the clones?
This is because I don't really have the space to keep large plants, and since my outdoor date is still months away, I'd prefer to just flower off the moms and pick a 'keeper' male right away, and maybe even do an indoor line seed run with the best indoor performers. Then I'll save the best male and females in smaller form in quart pots until it's time to start making spring clones.

You;d need about 75 short haired dogs like yours to get noticed in the horse blanket game....

lol! My dog sheds outrageously and my neighbor has a Shepherd who is in the middle of his spring shed... yeeps.

As for the flooding, it's just going to be a matter of drying the floors at this point... I keep all my ballasts up on milk crates, and hang outlets on extension cords or whatever up at least a foot off the floor by cup-hooks screwed into the wall.

And now we see why!
