2nd grow - Sour Diesel x OG.Kush & Ice

Ok, so it's my second grow...
You can check out my first grow here: 1st grow - AK-47

For this grow i'll be following the same method as last time, as well as improving upon it in terms of neutrients throughout the whole grow, and not just 3 weeks into flower like last time.

Plants:
* 2x Ice clones
* 1x Sour Diesel x OG.Kush - a mother plant given to me by a friend.

(yay for guarenteed females )

I'll be starting the ladies off in soil, in pots, outdoors. The African sun proved herself once before, I'm sure she'll prove herself again.

Problems I faced last time included little black flies. The flies occured when i was using this organic neutrient called seagro. I stopped using the neutrient all together, as well as sprayed the plants with a dishwash + water mix. the flies went away and didn't return. If i'm lucky I wont have the fly problem again as I'm not using those neuts anymore *touch wood*.

Last grow, the wind was a major problem which destroyed half of my flowering plant... when the plants are small they'll be in pots, and then eventually transferred to the ground. while they're in pots it's cool, because I can move them to shelter during heavy wind. any idea on how to deal with the wind when the plants are stuck in place?

Another possible problem...
The mother plant I aquired from a friend (the sour diesel x og.kush) was innitially in a hydro setup. The friend gave her to me with her roots in a plastic bag, and i immediately planted her into her pot. So far so good. But I don't know much about hydroponic growing, so taking a hydro plant and transferring it into soil, and to the big outdoors won't be a problem, will it?

so far, she's been outside for just over a week and there is already a lot of new growth on her. innitially some of her bottom leaves started to turn yellow and drop, but I think this was because they were getting very little direct sunlight. As I mentioned earlier, the plant was a mother and she was mainly being used for clones, lots of clones.. She's pretty much been chopped into a cute little bushy bonzai tree. (pics will come later today, promise).

So in summary... the questions that i need help answering are:

Sheltering plants from wind?
Hydro to outdoor?

Many thanks in advance I trust you guys will enjoy my grow.
I'll be uploading pics of the girls later today.

peace.

Here are the pics, the mother plant is the bigger of the three. That's the Sour diesel x OG kush.

The small clones are both Ice.

The last photo of the one ice clone... the second node growing broke off. It seams a little bit ill, but it seams to be pulling through. They were both the same size innitially.

ice lineage: (fromNirvana shop)
Quote:
Ice
With Ice we have successfully attempted to bring quality and quantity together. Ice has ancestors of Afghani, a very special Skunk, Northern Light, and Shiva. An intense selection process of thousands of plants was used in finding this special mix. Ice flowers are richly covered in trychomes and have a dense consistency. Buds form along main branches and there is a high flower to leaf ratio. Fastastic for hydro and soil applications. The stone is heavy and the aroma is almost like fuel. Ice is a winner of the 1998 Cannabis Cup.

* Plant type: Best suitable for indoor growing.
* Plant height: Medium- Indica/Sativa mix
* Stoned or high?: Stoney yet high- Allround Buzz
* THC level: Strong 15-20%
* Flowering Weeks: 8/10
* Yield (Sea of Green on one m2) : 375-475
* Harvest Month: 9/10
* Grow difficulty: Moderate
i'm sure it'll be fine outdoors though. Anyways, it's the best I could get, for free cannabis cup winner too. Anyone here tried this strain before that could give a review?

Ah busy times busy times.
Time for a much needed update.

Today a friend who is moving town gave me one of his durban poison plants that he was growing outdoors in a pot. so it motivated me to actually take some photos and make this post

All 3 plants:
The tiny ice plant in the front is the same age as the other ice plant, but it broke just after growing it's second node has been somewhat stunted....

1.
The small runty ice plant that also got covered in some sand/soil. Heavy days...
I'm thinking of not harvesting it and letting it reveg into next season. Is this a good idea?

2 & 3.
The other ice plant.

haha, it's just my parents sandy flowerbed, behind the lavender bush, next to the lemon tree, amongst the dog shit and against the wall which surprisingly lets the plants get sun for the whole day :P

Thanks for stopping by bro

An update, finally :>

well, firstly i'll start with the bad news...
Something bad happened to the ice plant... again. she's having bad luck :/
I think either my dog pissed on it on a hot day, or someone watered it on a hot day as half the plant looks burnt.
I don't think it's nuetrient burn because none of the other plants look this way and they've all been getting the same food. also, the burns only affected half the plant? Check the pics... and let me know what you guys think.
we've had some rain, so if it was dog piss then some of it's been washed away atleast :P

On a lighter note... the other plants look grrrreat

pic1 - ice plant form the front, burnt
pic2 - ice plant from the back, unburnt
pic3 - ice plant close up on burnt section (which still looks surprisingly good)
pic4 - ice plant close up on unburnt section (much better )

b0n3ZA, it looks like you're having another successful grow. I remember reviewing your first grow in an effort to get my first grow up and running. I'm sorry to see about your smaller ICE having a bad go of it - also sorry I don't have an explanation. The only thing I can think of is it looks like some sort of burn - if you hadn't mentioned dog urine, I would have guessed overly strong nute solution applied to the foliage, which leads me to believe the dog urine may be a viable explanation?

I'm happy to see all of those fine buds blooming big. I've got a few (hopefully) ladies started, and will probably begin a log here in the next few days. I look forward to following along with your great log. I wish you continued good luck!

Be good out there!
