Helping out a friend. LST

Okay so i harvested my 1st grow yesterday and the same day my good friend tells me he has these plants growing in his closet. They are really tall and the lower branches have died off, because all he had on them was this little flouro, but the tops of the plants look good. they were in little 1 gal. pots and mad rootbound. we transplanted last night and i tied them over in my closet because the light cannot go high enough and i think this LST will help the little branches to develop upward. i fed them some humic acid and a bunch of ph'd water. One is tied under the other. What do u guys think?

Only one real way to tell.....keep us posted with what happens. They look REALLY stretched so a good LSTing may help. Maybe even supercropping them may help the lower sites branch out a good bit.

Medical Marijuana Cultivation 102: Super Cropping

Super Cropping Technique

Supercropping is an easy growth - training method for marijuana growers. This is simply cutting off the top of the main stem several times during its vegetative growth, leaving approximately 10% of the stem intact each time. This method induces the plant to generate the growth of additional side shoots, which in turn increases the overall bud production. This is a favorite method of many growers, due to the almost - guaranteed increased yields.

------------------------

Super Cropping: By taking a branch between your forefinger and thumb you can gently crush the branch, causing it to develop multiple branches above the crushed area. You must crush it on the correct side or risk breaking the branch. Just squeeze lightly until you feel the branch give, then let go. If it gives easily then you have crushed it on the correct side. If it is hard to crush and the branch splits then you have chosen the wrong side. Practice makes perfect with Super Cropping.

Super Cropping should be carried out during the second or third week of vegetative growth and does stunt the plant. You should also note that plants that are Super Cropped can remain in the vegetative growth stage for twice as long as normal but the end result is a very bushy plant with multiple node regions that should all produce bud. Many growers have thrown Super Cropped plants away because they believed that the plants were not flowering in time. If you Super Crop your plants make sure that you have the patience to wait until the process is finished which — usually about four to six more weeks of vegetative growth.

so i re-tied them and now they are not on top of eachother. I might try supercropping but i want to give them a little while before i stress them anymore. They were just transplanted and now i've got them all tied up. anyone out there feel free to comment and throw in ideas. that post was very insightful italiano

Hey there... Thanks for the kind words on my log.

Well... I think you have things pretty much under control here The LST looks good...

I would just keep LSTing and put them into flowering within a couple weeks. The second super-cropping option is something you could try, but the fact that it adds to the veg time might not be so good. Anyways, I think you're doing fine, I'll be back to check out the new pics

As you prolly know I "top" my plant's which is cutting the main stalk to encourage the growth of lower branch's,while turning the top branch into 2 branch's.
When I 'supercrop" I do pinch the stem..but not to cut all the way thru it.you pinch the stem to soften the fiber's ..that way when you "fold" the branch over it doesn't break.
I will do a super crop on one of the bubble gum's in my flower room for you guy's and post it in my log.

Try to adding some microbes, and feed them with Molasses microbes love it, plants do too, and to not overdose your soil with iron, supplement with cane- suger extract instead of molasses sometimes. Works very well for me.

Not sure what your problem is, but it is good to rotate your plants every day too. Seems if I don't the growth sometimes in the back ends up doing something to some of the fan leaves. Plus, it's good to get lighting to all sides during the day as even with the lights where they are it still won't hit every spot, so some rotating throughout the day may help that also.
